Season 9 Fangel?

What would your reaction be if Angel and Faith became romantically involved this season, either short term or something more serious? Personally, I have a hard time imagining anything like that, but I also have a hard time envisioning Buffy ever entertaining romantic thoughts of Xander, so what do I know?
 
Well, like season 8 Bander, I can see either or both of them contemplating it or being attracted to each other with all the things going on. But really getting together as a couple. No, I hope not. I really don't anticipate it happening.
 
I think it depends on execution. It could be awesome, and could be disastrous. Angel and Faith have a rich, complicated history, and their first interactions in "Enemies" and "Consequences" were loaded with sexual tension - but there was so much more in their scenes. They were about hope and betrayal, potential friendship and lost opportunities, search of identity and goal for both for them.

I hope the writers won't botch it if they decide to develop a romantic Fangel arc.
 
I sincerely doubt there are genuine romantic feelings between them to develop. I don't think either one is anywhere near being in a position to have any sort of romantic dalliance with anyone. Is there sexual attraction? I would say most definitely...but I mean, look at them, you'd be hard pressed to find two hotter people. But I don't think it will mean a relationship between them. I hope it doesn't.

They have an amazing friendship, that's their magic and that is makes them compelling. There is nothing to be gained by making their relationship romantic.

Being a temporarily Buffy-rebound would be totally devastating to Faith even though it might give Angel a boost of confidence. I certainly hope they are not doing this - Faith does not deserve this, and it would destroy their dynamic and make the season look even more awkward and forced than it is now. And it looks from Mr. Gage's interview answers imply that Angel is totally in love with Buffy - so Fangel cannot happen as anything but a quicky rebound. Besides, Faith does not do relationship.
 
I would love to see this some day, but I since I really admire the new Faith, I think she deserves better, so Angel would have to redeem himself, and show that he's changed(not sure if I'll ever trust his good intentions again, I mean, he just keeps screwing up) before that should happen. But you never know. Two screwed up people trying to redeem themselves. Could work. But if it happened now, it would be a rebound thing. And the whole unhealthy-love/lust thing has been done very well with Willow/Xander, Wesley/Lilah and Spike/Buffy already.

I do like the friendship thing they have going though, but that might get old some day.
