Season Eight Error

The true reality of it is Joss probably didn't know Buffy would continue in Season Eight form so really Warren was dead but out of nowhere he got the opportunity to continue Buffy in comic form and decided to bring Warren back and had to figure out some way to do that with less loop holes as possible. I still hope that they're not the big bads this season

me too! that would suck...
I think this, if anything, was my major gripe with the first arc.

It's explained in #4 that the burning was a "flash paper trick" concocted by Amy. If that's the case, why wouldn't Willow have recognized that she wasn't the one who immolated him and thus have realized that another witch was around?

The only thing I can think of (re: hope) is that Warren has absolutely no recollection of that night past his skin job (and who could blame him?) and that the story Amy gave him wasn't entirely true.

Okay, I just had a wacky idea...
Assume what Fallen Angelus is saying is true, that Amy lied ('cause she's known for that). If Joss did something like that, no doubt there'd be some big thing about Warren that we don't know (or him for that matter) and it would probably make Warren really pissed. I just think it would be kinda cool if Warren not necessarily "teamed-up" with the Scoobies but if he helped them (and maybe more specifically Willow) deal with Amy. It would be a really cool way to tie up some of the loose ends with Willow, a way for her to finally sort of forgive herself for all that happened at Season 6's end (I don't exactly know, this is just an idea but Joss has expressed that he wants to do alot with Willow's character, he wouldn't just give her all that power for nothing!). All I'm saying was it'd be cool if he somehow made Warren a kinda good guy (and hopefully in a sacrificial type way because I hate that guy!).

good theory
Warren

... Came back as the first quite a few times. The first comes back as people who have died. Does that mean Amy actually brought him back from the dead?

I apologise if there's already been a discussion on this. I am new afterall lol.

(Also I just want to point out I haven't read the fifth issue yet.)

I was just re-reading #5, and Warren is talking to Willow, he askes her if she remebers saying "Bored now" which were "the last two words of my Human life" so his human life was over, maybe thats why the First could look like him.

Good Point. (BTW, it's # 4). And then there's this.

He's not saying he didn't die. If you wanted to you could see him as being reborn as something else with magic skin.

And red hair!!
Not that it will stop people from speculating, but Joss has now answered this question in the letters section of Buffy 8 # 6.

He was legally dead for like a second. Amy didn't tell him 'cause she didn't want to upset him.

I forgot, okay?!

Joss

He so clearly needs me on in his continuity staff 😉 LOL where did he answer that?

Heh, yes please. Too busy, no time for actual "reading" 😛
