Well, all done until next season then. Discussion on this one seems a bit slow starting so here goes with a few of my thoughts...

Finally got rid of Connor - yes! Only liked the little brat when he appeared as a baby.

We finally got to see where Angel got the amulet, phew.

On the whole this ep felt a bit laboured - an extended set up for next season. Always like to see Lilah though.

What was the deal with Gunn and the big cat? I got that it was a black panther but then I was distracted and I suspect I missed an important bit (or was it left as Gunn and cat gazing into each other's eyes?)

I'm not sure about the new direction but, then again, I wasn't sure about the move to the hotel 🙂

I loved the irony of W&H rewarding Angel et al "for ending world peace".
 
I thought this was a very cool, powerful episode.

Loved the tour of W & H. All the possibilities.

Something happened between the Jaguar and Gunn. Someone mentioned that perhaps there's a comparison between the two, the warrior in them or something.

I liked the scenes between Wesley and Lilah. I think he genuinely did care for her, proved by the way he tried to destroy her contract with Wolfram and Hart only for another one to appear in her folder. The scene between them was nicely played.

And what can i say about the scene between Angel and Connor in the store except.. wow!. It was powerful and emotive. Poor Connor, he felt absolutely nothing, even when he killed Jasmine, he was emotionless. He felt no love. He blamed his father for not trying to keep him, for allowing Holtz to take him and take him to the hell dimension of Quor'toth. The look of pure agony on both their faces. I had a huge lump in my throat. And the sacrifice that Angel made so that his son could have a normal, happy life. I think he set up a deal with Lilah and the Senior Partners so that if he killed Connor, then the boy would be set up with his own family and finally be happy. It was nice to see Connor smile at the end. It was nicely dealt with i thought, and neatly wrapped up the Connor storyline. And the look on Angel's face said it all.
Applause to David and Vincent, that scene between them was just awesome.

And we're about to head into Season Five and the possibilites are just mind boggling. Can't wait. 🙂
 
It was a rather slow episode I thought. I expected it to be more eart shaking. I completly didn't understand the whole Gun/panther scene. Anyone care to explain?
 
Nice to see I'm not the only one who didn't get the Gunn/Panther thing. It sounds like I didn't miss something vital when I was distracted. It's a nice image/metaphor but what does it mean? Or is it some freaky White Room thing?

It'll be interesting to see how Angel and co. manage to keep the LA branch of W&H on the straight-and-narrow - if they can😉
 
I thought It was very good but I felt soo sorry for Angel...he gave up his son...and he was looking through the window and seeing how much he was enjoying it....im glad that they joined with WnH...I dont and do think that they are up to somethin...im not quite sure have to wait till next year...I feel so sorry for Angel its twice he has gave up someone he loves and needs like he did with Buffy....aawwww...hopefully the next season or next he will get them both back....😀

On the whole,a bravura script.........Endless opportunities have been opened up.........I can't wait!!

I was hoping for something out of the ordinary,because frankly ever since Jasmine's arrival the show's been on the road to nowhere.........Now that the change,has happened let's hope they grab the forthcoming plot opportunities with both hands .........


Connor's scene were great,I'm extremely happy that he's gotten some resolution to his miserable storyline!Thank God that's over.....lol......

Overall:a brilliant start to the season but let down by Jasmine and that whole farango........ I bid you goodnight!
 
I thought this episode has now opened up a lot of possibilities.

After the Panther scene Gunn seemed to walk out with a purpose, maybe he spoke to his sister or something.

I really laughed when the limo door was opened and Lorne was sitting there commenting on the drinks.

Why would Angel have to kill Connor? I thought he just knocked him out so they could do the mojo and send him to the cabin.

Well I am about to watch the Saturday repeat and will see if I notice anything new.

P.S. It's always nice to see Lilah😉
 
What a fab episode to finish off a fab season!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂
 
Okay, regarding Gunn and the Jaguar in the White Room.

I was watching "Long Day's Journey" tonight and something occurred to me.

This was the episode about the five totems of the Ra-Tet that the Beast was systematically killing. The previous episode saw the Beast killing the little girl. We found out in "LDJ" that she was one of the Totems and her name was Mesektet. Wesley and Fred showed the team a diagram of the five totems. And there was the little girl with her arm across the shoulders of a black jaguar called Sekhmet. I'm sure (though not 100%) that it was mentioned that the Jaguar was a plaything of Mesektet. What if the Jaguar that Gunn saw in the White Room was Sekhmet?. I know that he was killed in his cave in Death Valley and that his heart (and blood) were used in the ritual by the beast to blot out the sun, but what if what Gunn saw was Sekhmet's spirit?. Maybe there's a metaphor or comparison in there which will be explored in Season Five?. It wasn't explained whether Sekhmet was good or evil (though as a playmate to Mesektet, one can assume probably the latter).

Opinions? Or am i just reading way too much into this?.
 
So what do you thing hsppened if it was Sekmet's spirit, do you think that it somehow transfered itself to Gunn or is controlling him somehow?
 
Not sure really, that's something for the writers i suppose if they follow that route.

Well, since i posted that thread, i've realised that it wasn't a jaguar in the diagram but a sabre toothed tiger, though they looked really similar in the diagram and it wasn't its heart that was used in the ritual, i think those metal wings were taken from inside of it, but i think what got me thinking was the fact that Mesketet (the little girl from the White Room) was pictured with her arm across its shoulders and the Jaguar appeared to Gunn in the White Room.

The jaguar bit threw me, i don't know and i'm only guessing at this possible connection because i'm sure the sabre toothed tiger died out millions of years ago. I'm if there was going to be a definite connection between the two, that the cat was Sekhmet, that a bit of CGI magic would've made the jaguar look like a sabre toothed tiger.

Who know? i guess we'll have to wait for Season Five to find out 🙂
 
Good spotting there. Sounds like a good theory - I wouldn't get bogged down in the Sabre-tooth or Jaguar thing. I thought it was a black panther because of the "Black Panthers" 60's black radical group who shook up US politics - and Gunn being a black guy to shake up W&H radically... But, then again, I don't know that much about 60's US politics 😉
 
I think with them owning w&h where going to see a different kind of season. also i loved this episode yay they got rid of connor and the tour was funny and cool and the end sad for angel but yay for me
 
i have a question, how come none of the others remembered Connor besides Angel? I didn't really understand that whole Connor moving to the cabin thing. this season was kind of strange and the whole Jasmine thing was too. It was a pretty good epsode though, it opened up a lot of possiblities for next season, i can't wait!!
 
Angel made it part of the w&h deal that Connor is given a normal life and the rest of the team will not remember him.
 
I loved 'Home'. but due to s4 terribe use of the character Cordelia, and were she is at now, i believe the show to have turned for the worse, and i intend not watch if Cordelia doesnt return!
 
I personally loved the episode "Home"...probably because I wasn't expecting Lilah to be such a huge part of it. What a nice surprise that was! While I personally don't really care for the character of Gunn, I thought it was really cute how he reacted to his guide. "Do I get her??" It's good that he's moving on. I totally didn't understand the Gunn/panther thing, but I'm sure it will eventually get explained. And of course, besides Lilah returning, Connor leaving was my favorite part. Hopefully if he comes back next season he won't be so annoying. Yay season 5!!
 
welll, i just saw it yesterday...and i think that it was perfect. i admit i was sad to see connor leave, but also it was the best for him. also i dont think angel killed him, he just knocked him out...finally the thing with the panther...no idea.
 
Jasmine.....

Was jasmine really a PTB????and if she was, why did she eat people?????!!I thought she was a God or sumthing.....meh! confused!🙁 😕
 
I loved 'Home', it's probably one of my favourite Angel episodes. I just wathed it again last night and aaaaahh I'd forgotten how good it was.
I loved the fact that Lilah was there, she's one of my favourite Angel characters, and she was really wonderful in the episode. It was so funny when someone (I think it was Wes... could have been Angel) said: It's a lie.
Lilah: La. It's a Lilah.
Wes definitely had some deep feelings about her, even if she wasn't a 'loved one'. Trying to burn her contract was really sweet, and I loved it when he shot those things out of his arms after he bashed the evil watcher guy up.
I"m not a big Gunn fan, so not much to say about him - I didn't get the whole panther thing either though, hehehehe.
Fred was cutely nerdish, and I recognised her guide as Holden Webster from 'Conversations With Dead People'! Hheheh special moment for me...
Lorne was hilarious as usual, especially when we first saw him in the limo talking about drinks. I'm glad they FINALLY made him a regular this season.
Now for Angel and Connor.... what can I say? The scene when they were fighting and Connor was all crazy was incredibly moving. Especially the look on Angel's face as Connor was talking. I felt so sorry for the both of them! Imagine being empty and incapable of feeling. I don't think it was Angel's fault, but I can see how Connor would blame him. I think Angel had to kill Connor because of the prophecy "the father will kill the son". Just because it was fake doesn't mean it wouldn't come to pass. Only, it was for good instead of bad. Then the lst scene where Angel's looking in.... that made me get all teary which basically no other episode of buffy and angel has!
This probably doesn't belong on the Angel board, but I was very annoyed at Angel in 'Chosen'. Not most of the time, but I thought he loved Cordy! I mean, he just forgot all about her and went after Buffy. pffff doesn't four years of fighting side by side mean anything to him? evidently not.
All in all, a great episode and I can't wait til season five!
