Ok, basically I'm just wondering what you guys think. If season one of Buffy had had a full length run do you think season two would have been ever better than it was? What I mean by this is the beginning of season two seems to still be influenced by the monster of the week episodes of season one style. So I was thinking if one had a full run maybe they would have gotten it out of their system. Honestly, I rank season 2 as my second or third fav but if it weren't for some lesser episodes especially in the early part of the season I think it would be my number one favorite. Its only problem is the lackluster stand alone eps. I am awaiting your ever insightful commentary.
 
Good question. I guess we'll never really know what they would have planned. I'm thinking we would have gotten more time with Bangel, and yea some of those episodes like Some Assembly Required, Inca Mummy Girl and Reptile Boy are very MoTW s1 types. I'm thinking we might have gotten more Spike and Dru and maybe even Angelus. But it depends on what episodes they would replace those ones with. So it could be improved or not. I rank S2 pretty high too, but it's mostly for everything after Surprise and the few great eps in the beginning like Halloween. I actually like the MoTW formula, it's just those episodes didn't work. So I'd say more focus on Bangel, Giles and Jenny (imo) More Oz is always good, and yea more Spike and Dru. Spike gets put in a wheel chair to early on imo. I guess I don't have a really good answer.
 
I think that if Season 1 had been a full 22 episodes, Joss would have used the extra time to give a complete origin story, rather than having Buffy already been the Slayer in Episode 1. The only major changes would have been the story location, Sunnydale instead of L A, the substitution of the Master for Lothos, Giles for Merrick , and probably Angel for Pike. The Master would still have been the Season's Big Bad, but there could have been more time devoted to his plans. The so called monster of the week theme would probably have still gotten the same number of episodes, but, with 22 instead of 12 in the Season, it wouldn't have been so noticeable.

Other than that, I don't see it affecting Season 2 or anything beyond there.
