I've got to agree with you, Eowyn. Never Kill a Boy on a First Date is a pretty close second. Angel looks so cute when he's jealous. I also think Out of Mind, Out of Sight is a good bangel episode as well. The talk Angel has with Giles is so sweet!

Yeah... Angel was adorable in NKABOTFD, and it was hilarious when Cordelia was going over to talk to him and she sees him go to Buffy and talk to her and she's like: "Why does this happen to me?" :infatuati Gotta love my Angel 😛

: grinyes Yeah... The talk with Giles was lovely... "A vampire in love with the Slayer. Sort of poetic." :infatuati

On this one I had to go with 'Prophecy Girl'.

Getting behind the camera for the first time (and thankfully not the last), Joss Whedon shows what he wants this series to be; a mini-movie each week. This is what a season finale of Buffy should be; terror, death, destruction and the Apocalypse followed by a night of partying at the Bronze.

Every character is on point; Xander's pain after being rejected by Buffy is familiar to anyone that has been through that. Willow's horror is strikingly portrayed and amkes Buffy realize what she has to do.

Of course the standout in the episode is Buffy's 'I Quit' speech. Anyone that says SMG is not a great actress needs to look at that one scene. SMG gives a young girl raging against a world that is forcing to miss the best years of her life, but eventually does the right thing, the thing she has to do, even though it will mean her death.

Other season finale's of the show might have been better and flashier, but 'Prophecy Girl' set the bar for all that followed.

i had tough time choosing between wtth and "prophecy ggirl", but i went for the latter eventually. it was a beautiful touching episode, with one of the best speeches/scenes (buffy finding out she's going to die), a very poignant story and beautiful acting.

Had to go with Angel for this.

It was the first episode where i knew that this series wasn't just good, it was going to be great! The mythology and depth of character development were very clear from this point which is something that most series don't manage in seven seasons, let alone seven episodes!

i have to agree with you about angel (and i really should have included it in my list). i have a special weakness for it because of the b/aness and because it really was the first glimpse into what was later to become the very rich and intriguing mythology of the slayerverse, and the backstory of my favorite character. plus, i thought this waqs the first episode where david proved he could act lol.
so yes, it was beautiful 🙂

Well, I voted for Prophecy Girl, mostly because of the absolute stand-out acting by all involved. I loved the absolute helplessness that Giles had in this episode. It was the first glimpse of his "father's love" for Buffy. And it was the first episode where the Master really really scared me. Before this episode, he really hadn't been particularly menacing...just kind of humorous.

But "the Pack" runs a VERY close second in my estimation. Yes, it's hokey and a little silly. But I adore Hyena Xander (except when he's being awful to Willow...grrr) and it was the first episode where Buffy had to deal with one of her friends being "evil" or being the bad guy, something which the show explores much more deeply later on, especially in Season 6.

I voted for Puppet Show goes it's sort of a classic... 'though Prophecy Girl comes closes, but Puppet Show... had puppets and we all love those, don't we?

i liked out of mind out of sight and prohery girl i thought cordy was really good in oomoos also has any of you notice the girl marcy is in the grudge as well????

There were so many that I liked... But the one that sticks out was Witch... I died laughing when Buffy was "practicing" with the other cheerleaders, and she was "drunk"... Great!

I can't decide between Welcome To The Hellmouth, The Harvest and Prophecy Girl. All three of those rocked equally.

I chose "Prophecy Girl"

I really like how Buffy steps up and accepts her role. It really sets that stage for the Buff that we all come to know and love in later seasons.

The Witch because i can watch that one over and over again. Plus it was the first eppie to not deal with vampires. Something not of the norm. LOL
I agree completely.

I always watch that episode, it's actually my overall favorite. There was just something about that episode.

I must've watched it about 15 times, not a word of lie. 😀
