the snene in the bronze when buffy confronts dawn how dare she be a hypocrire? she was always dancing and going on dates and dressing a little slutty at dawn's age if not younger i think she was totally oput of line and what she said to dawn about glad joyce wasn't there i think dawn should have slapped her.

what are your views on this?

Well, if you stop to think about it, you have to consider that Buffy is now in the mother role as opposed to the sister role. She reacted just as a mother would've.

Most adults don't really care what they were like at that age and take it into consideration. They have the wiseness to know that it leads to no good, and that might be why Buffy didn't take into account her behaviors at that age.

I honestly don't think it was unfair - though when I get to that age I might, lol - but seriously, it would be dangerous enough in a normal town but in Sunnydale, he could be anyone...heck, anyTHING. Plus as 'SpikedBuffy' said, she treats Dawn like she herself is the mother, so she just acts how a parent would.

About the whole 'I'm glad Mom's not here to see you like this' thing, that WAS a little harsh, but I think Buffy realised after she said it, ya know, the way she winced. Sometimes people talk without saying things, so I guess, yeah, that's why.

I would have thought it was harsh if I was that age to :p
Yeah i dont think she was harsh on her. Ok so maybe buffy did dress and act like that but that was her seeing her little sister do all that after she thought she was studying. plus like some others said, the whole motherly role plays into it. In a way she was just being protective of dawn.

yeah i agree with this to, I think she winced because of what she said and her mom actually not being there any more but dead

Well, to be fair, Dawn wasn't really her normal self in that ep, was she? She was under the whammy.

That said, by season 7, Buffy was getting pretty damn hard to like at times.

i havent seen this episode in a while, and though i do agree she was just being protective like a mother would be, could it have been she was so harsh because of RJ's whammy? i mean, she did see him when he was dancing with dawn, didnt she?

It's really possible that the spell could have started kicking in then.

Poor little Dawnie gets it again. Buffy was always a good girl, she never wore clothes like that, her 1st real boyfriend may have been a little older than her, but only about 240 years older oh and he was a vampire.

Hmm, I wonder, don't suppose Buffy was jealous of Dawn ?

I dont think the mother figure thing had anything to do with it. Dawn's her baby sister. Seeing your little sister dancing like that would make you a little cranky too. I can totally see why she yelled at her. I mean, Buffy feels she needs to protect Dawn, and this is something she feels the need to protect her from. Sexed-up boys.

I think Buffy was just a lil' thrown at seeing Dawn as what she was now: a woman. Maybe she felt she not only had the juty of being the slayer and protecting her from unstopable evil.. but also as the big sister who wants to protect her from the real world and all the issues in it.

can i just say tho, michelle looked really pretty! i dont necessarily think of her as all that attractive of a girl but she was def hot there. ok...that was pretty random sorry.

And yeah, i think any one of you would act the same way if you saw your little sister dressed like that and dancing like that with some guy. And also didn't she lie about where she was going?
