Season Six and Seven Buffy DVD Details

2 outtakes and disc six menus from the seventh season DVD and larger menu shots from the sixth.

And so it ends. I now have a copy of the sixth and final disc of the Season 7 Buffy The Vampire Slayer set, and can now provide more details about the set's bonus materials.

Disc six contains the bulk of the set's bonus features:

It's titled Season 7 Overview - Buffy: Full Circle (36m) on the menu screen, but this featurette is actually called Full Circle: Buffy's Final Season on screen. This is the customary summary of the season. It includes contributions from many of the key behind the scenes crew members, including lesser-spotted Executive Story Editor Rebecca Rand Kirshner, writer Drew Goddard and Story Editor Drew Z. Greenberg. Cast members contributing include Alyson Hannigan (yay!), James Marsters, Michelle Trachtenberg, Tom Lenk and D.B. Woodside. Sarah Michelle Gellar is, as usual, conspicuous by her absence.

Buffy Wraps (5m) is footage from the show's wrap party, featuring interviews with Joss Whedon, Marti Noxon and many of the cast members, including some from the show's earlier seasons. It seems that Sarah Michelle Gellar's invitation got lost in the post.

Outtakes (4m) is a fun collection of goofy moments and fluffed lines. You'll get to see dancing uber-vamps, Nicholas Brendon having a sneeze attack, and a bit more of the Troika as gods. No Sarah Michelle Gellar was harmed during the making of this segment.

Generation S (8m) focuses on the Potentials, and includes interviews with Felicia Day (Vi), Iyari Limon (Kennedy), Indigo (Rona) and Sarah Hagan (Amanda). Ms Gellar did not require a limo to take her to the set the day this was filmed.

The Last Sundown (9m) is "Joss Whedon's look back at his ten favourite episodes in the Buffy mythology and his thoughts on bringing the acclaimed series to life and to a close". Sarah's Make-up Supervisor took the day off.

Easter Egg (1m)
accessible from the Featurettes menu - The Gift montage.

The disc also includes adverts for Firefly and "television's most original sci-fi series" (err, okay, if you say so) Roswell.

Someone doesnt like SMG.

Anyway, looks coold but the bleedin potentials take up the last menu. Should be all of the main characters.

That looks crazy, crazy in a class way, will never experience it though as I am a VHS guy with Buffy, hehe.

I agree totally.That's just wrong :: dracula :: wacko :

lol what kind of DVD is it if it's main star can't be botherd to show up for extras? Reasons like this are why I think SMG is a snob. Big pat on the back for James Marsters cause he is always seen on the DVDs, conventions, promo ect.

I agree completely.Sarah should have showed up to do the extras thing.

James rocks😀.That's why people love him so much ::dance::

they look good, DB never shows up to do a lot of extras or to conventions. Does that mkae him stuck up?

I hope US S7 will be somewhat like that with some changes.

I'm guessing you mean the guy who played Wood (and not David Boreanaz). DB Woodside had been in the show one season. He wasn't even a major character anyway. So there isn't even any need for him (yet he still found time for the DVD). Where as SMG has been on the show 7 years and never does conventions, DVDs or anything like that. When was the last time she even did an interview for Buffy Magazine?

I am talking about David Boreanaz, SMG did a lot of interviews for Season7 sure that was the last season but its not like she had to do them. Sarah is just being a human-being.

Boreanaz does show up for the DVD's. He's always in the season overviews, does the occasional featurette. He also does what, one or two conventions a year? I think that's more than enough for a guy with a wife, a young kid, and oh yeah, is the lead on a series that has constant night shoots.

Damn....No Emma Caulfield 🙁 *pouts*
I got excited, cuz I thought she was doing commentary for 'Selfless'

My point exactly. I'm just glad I'm a fan of a series where the main star isn't a snob. Plus David doe's more like five conventions a year.

Lets no turn this into too much off an off topic argument but DB only does Angel, with the exception of Crow during the summer so he has more time. But we dont know what go through their minds.

So back onto topic, still 🙁 about the potentials taking up the last menu.

let's see, last year alone he did Angel, the Crow 4, a Dido music video, conventions, and all the press related to those activities. I'd say that's a more than hefty workload.

A music video takes a few days, and he was only in a few shots so could of got it done in a day. Press stuff and extras can be done on set and yes he did a film, as I said before. Anyway im not bashing DB, I'm a big fan.

Its not like SMG shuns away from Buffy stuff, DB doesnt go to all of the convetions and most of the interviews he does is onset which SMG did During 7 years of Buffy.

SMG likes to keep her acting life and personal life away from each other, she spent most of her time doing Buffy stuff, and so she doesnt go to conventions not like everyone does. Its like saying Emma is stuck up because oh she wouldnt agree to do Anya for a S8 if their were one. And she doesnt go to all of the conventions or does that many interviews for the show.
