I read that they left and wont be able to come back due to the destruction of the seed.
I am really dissapointed that the Big Bads of basically the whole of ATS were defeated in such a way.
The "partners found out that they were not part of the final apocalypse after all". WTF?! Thanks Joss! Its like Wesley died for nothing. The Circle of Black Thor could've been left alone after all. I am also sick of this "Apocalypse" that has been foretold to be amazing for about 14 years now and still hasn't happened. And all this time in BTVS epic apocalypses just come and go. Angel's one still has yet to come but the partners are not part of it??? Thats so messed up.
So basically now Wolfram and Hart and the SP are defeated as a follow-up to the events in the Buffy comic books. Thats unfair.

Also, putting Angel together with Faith in a comic... Like ATS and After the Fall never happened. Where's Gunn, Illyria, Connor, Nina? Faith and Giles are part of Buffy's crew and are more associated with her continuity. Where are all the ATS characters?

Why is Whedon diminishing every significant concept and character that was established by ATS?

Joss doesn't seem to care about anything from Angel. I want to see characters like Gunn and Illyria in Angel & Faith or even Season 9, but they don't seem to exist anymore. Maybe one day...

Because it's his universe, and he can manipulate the facts any way that he pleases, and he's an evil, sadistic little troll who enjoys screwing with his fans.

As for the Senior Partners, I wouldn't count them permanently out of the action just yet. I have a feeling that the whole point of them so publicly leaving our universe was just a ploy to catch everyone off guard at a later date. At the most, they probably just left this dimension because they knew that magic was in danger of being nullified here, and they wanted to assure that they maintained their power until it's properly restored.

Now, that would be a great main theme for Season 10. Willow succeeds in restoring Magic once more, only to, as a result, unleash the Senior Partners on the world. Remember what Spike said at the beginning of Season 6. With magic, there's always consequences, the bigger the spell, the bigger the consequences. 😀

(Joss, just in case you're reading this, you don't have to pay me for the idea. I'm always glad to help)

Are the senior partners definitely gone. I have skim read some of the comics, but I don't recall this being mentioned?
