Sequals

Is anyone else getting annoyed with the amazing number of sequals that are comming out in the next couple of years I mean here is just few select titles with Sequals out in the next two years.
Bad Boys 2 , Battlefield Earth 2 ,Blue Streak 2, Blair Witch 3, Boat Trip (a sequal to road trip) Anaconda 2 , Exorcist 4:1 , Final Destination 2 , Jeepers Creepers II, Jason X , Child's Play 5, Halloween: Resurrection.
And they are just the ones i feel like naming there are dozons more not to mention contless remakes.
Isnt it time a hollywoon "geneis" came up with a new idea?

Are they on crack? Did they see Battlefield Earth 1? Did anyone see Battlefield Earth 1?

I am not annoyed by it if it's a movie that was good the first time, and if the sequwl is well done. It's only annoying when the concept was bad to begin with, or they just throw a sequel together instead of trying to make a legitimate good movie.
 
Some sequels were really great! Like the God Father 2 and 3. Even Back to the Future 2 and 3 ... well, let's forget about the 2nd 😉

I must admit that when Hollywood sees that a movie does BIG, wait HUGE, wait ENORMOUS, bucks from a movie, they usually want to bank more on the phenomenon and do a sequel. What is sad is when the sequels are written so fast and not thought of, this usually ends up in a "yuk" movie.

But look at the Inidiana Jones series, it took a while between each movies because they wanted to make sure the movies would be good.

It is also best when they plan the movie even before the first one is out, that way they don't do it on the basis there will be big bucks involved, but more because the movie will need a sequel to get its conclusion.

I must admit with you that the producers must be on crack to do Battle Field Earth 2?????? It was sooooooooo bad 🙁 I even went to see part of the shooting (they filmed near my city) and right then I could see it didn't have much potential. I guess some actors really do make the difference in if there will be a sequel or not.
 
i think battlefield earth 2 is a labour of love for the scientologists
 
This year has just gone sequal mad! I agree some are okay, but too much of one film can be enough already! Like the Blair witch, why release a 3rd? The first was really bad, the second was okay, it just seems like they are working up the scale.

Not forgetting The Matrix 2!
 
Lol I think Battlefield Earth just passed me by...must have been good 😉 One sequel I waas really quite upset about was Cruel Intentions 2; considering it was made with all the same writers it was *pathetic* The only decent lines in it were lifted directly form the first film, and it was sensationalist, for no reason.

I'm just hoping that X Men2 will be as good as the first; I couldn't stand Hugh Jackman, Anna Paquin and all thoe other great actors to suffer a really bad scripting. But then if we get more "unconscious Wolverine topless on the table" I'm not too sure I'd complain 😀
 
I am so excited for X-Men 2 - what great tension between Jean and Logan.

And yes CI2 was very bad. Some parts are funny, but it is no way near the quality of CI1.

Nooo...Jeans' with Cyclops, and Logan will get with Rogue if I have to hold a gun to the writer's heads....even Hugh and Anna commented themselves on the subtext. There's been so many little bits of evidence on why people think Rogue and Wolvie will get together in the next film that I swear I will die of disappointment if they don't get together!!!
 
They're also making sequels to classic Disney movies like Cinderelle and Peter Pan.

If they're beginning to do sequels to the classics, I just might have a meltdown.
 
Some sequels do work, I really enjoyed Blade 2, still as action packed as the first and the story wasn't too bad either, Also the Mummy 1 & 2 were quite good as well. 😀😀

I'm also looking forward to seeing Matrix 2 and Xmen 2, like someone else said I just hope the writers do the storylines and actors justice.🙂

I liked The Mummy Returns.🙂

I also heard they were making The Mummy 3. Anyone else hear about that, or is The Scorpion King it? *confused*
 
The Mummy 3 is the Scorpion King - I think they've said they will only make another Mummy (non-prequel) if they can come up with an interesting story.

They've already done Cinderella and Peter Pan II 🙂

And OMG Rogue and Gambit 😀

I've already melteddown. Here's a list of all the sequels they've made out of the classic movies:
1) Lady and the Tramp 2
2) Peter Pan 2
3) Cinderella 2
4) 101 Dalmations 2
5) The Little Mermaid 2
6) The Hunchback of Noltre Damn 2
There's also more, but that's all I can think of off the top of my head right now. I'll edit the list later as soon as I can think of others. Making the sequels offends me sooooo bad. I'm the biggest Disney fan in the world. And I've seen all of those sequels and they are just HORRIBLE. Worse than horrible actually. I just couldn't think of a word that's worse then horrible. Anyways, they are taking such classic and beautiful stories and ruining them. I hate Disney for ruining Walt's masterpieces.

I'm having very high hopes for Final Destination 2, and Jeepers Creepers II. It's just pathetic that they're making the Disney movies have sequels. I like trilogies; like Scream 1, 2, & 3.

Wasn't 101 Dalmatians actually called 102 dalmatians? Something like that anyway. And yes the shop I work in is selling Cinderella II videos; I call it sacrilege!
 
Disney make a habit out of doing sequals. Men in Black 2 is due to be released soon too.
I can't wait for X Men 2, i think Rouge and Gambit would make such a sweet couple!!!😀
 
Sorry, but since they kind of made Rogue into a Jubilee look-alike in the first movie, the thought of a romance there just seems a little pervy to me 😀
 
I agree with Buffy. Wolverine is more like father figure to Rogue and any happenings between them would be a bit freaky.
