I have it! It kicks ass! (ahem) It's very interesting; interviews with Joss, concept sketches, and the shooting script, among others.
Yeah, I have that among my many Firefly/Serenity items.
I did have the nice experience of reading Joss' "Kitchen Sink" script for Serenity.
A few facts did come to light there, such as just exactly how many planets/moons there were, why no one knew about "Miranda" (it was widely known as "Blackrock" and had a backstory of a known terraforming failure - not as Miranda) and other little tidbits.
So
much was cut from that to make Serenity. Lots of exposition that would have made things so much clearer were lost.
Lots of dialog that was cut and/or given to other actors.
I found it interesting that Book and Wash did not die in that script, and that Book remained on Serenity instead of being at Haven at all.
An example of cut dialog that explains why it took so long to send an Operative after the Tams:
Scene is just before the equivalent of "key members of Parliament"
Operative: Did you know that there are two members of that council that have taken their own lives in the last three months?
Doctor: Taken... what do you mean?
Operative: I mean just that. Suicides. I never met them 'til after. One hanged, one a jumper. It would seem that both had something on their minds, something disturbing. Something secret. Even from me. There's no way to know exactly what they were hiding... unless you could read minds.
Doctor: River Tam never said anything about... I never heard...
Operative: I've no wish to know the secret. It's clearly upsetting. But I read River's transcripts. And it does appear she became much more agitated... much more not very sane... after she saw the generals. You had to show her off. The Parliament suspects she may have this knowledge, even if she is unaware of it.
So the real reason for the renewed interest is that people have begun taking their own lives, there are no records to inspect and they really want to know why, from the one person who seems to know.
I would have loved to have heard Jayne say this while in the mule:
Zoe: If this job is so shiny, why'd they hire us? Coulda kept it in house.
Mal: Because we're the best. You don't send some skimmer-in-a-top-knot-never-been-out-of-the-city on a job like this, you send the pros. That's us.
Jayne: River's touching me. She keeps coming over to my side.
And then joyful Kaylee when Simon decides to leave:
Simon: Well he just mentioned... he happen to say that when we first joined up... that if I, oh, ever laid a hand on you he'd shoot me in the throat.
Kaylee: Oh?
Simon: Which is only right, right? Think how much worse it would have been if...
Kaylee: If?
Simon: I should pack.
Kaylee: We were getting to the "if".
Which all has the payoff just before the Fanty and Mingo scene...
Kaylee: Wait! A toast! Gotta say a toast! To our captain. <Kaylee throws her pint of beer into the captains face> To our captain.
Mal: Spah... what...
Kaylee: You told Simon you'd shoot him if he got with me?
Mal: You moonbrained cow, what are you...
Kaylee: You kept him away from me! You know how much I pined for him and you went and ruined my whole life.
Mal: I'm supposed to do a deal now covered in spiced ale? You idiot child, I outta slap you silly.
Zoe: Did you really tell the doctor you'd shoot him?
Mal: I don't know! I may have indicated violence of some kind... to protect you.
Kaylee: From what? Gettin' some yum-yum?...... <goes on a bit more> I'm so mad at you. I waited... goin' on a year now and I ain't had nothin' twixt...

Just so much left out. Unfortunate really. I do feel as though I've finally read Serenity as it should have been though.
