Don't know if it deserves its own thread, but here it is.

Hey guys.

I'm here on the official site, so that can only mean one thing: somebody finally told me my password! (Again.) It probably also means that I have some big-ass announcement or other. Well tops on the announcement list is this: after months of intensive yoga, i can finally touch my toes! (They feel round and bunion-y.)

But there's more! I'm talkin' movie news, peeps, so no more drumroll: Trailer. Serenity. Tuesday.

Yeah, kids, the haps is hap'nin', and it runs thus: EXCLUSIVELY on Apple movie trailers (and linked through this site as well of course) will be a small, medium, large or FULLSCREEN trailer for Serenity the major motion movie. Yeah, THE trailer. And the following Friday said trailer hits theaters. Which theaters? Until I get confirmation you'll have to guess, but I'm betting you can.

Now, here's a word of warning: this trailer ain't shy. If you're looking to live totally spoiler-free, know that there's plenty of key dialogue and images running through this bad boy. It's pretty tasty, though, and it doesn't give everything away. But close scrutiny will definitely learn you much of what's to come. (Anakin TOTALLY goes evil.) It's a nice piece to while away the time till September, and hopefully should intrigue th' peeps that don't have coats of brown.

The only thing more exciting than y'all finally seeing this was showing it to Nathan. Like a schoolboy giggled he.

Despite the fact I want to avoid spoilers I think I'll download it. Should pick me up after spending ten hours at college tomorrow.
 
I think I may take a look, despite all my well-intentioned spoiler avoidance. It should be coming out about now anyway...if it hadn't been for that meddling Lucas and his silly little space opera...I'm telling you, that'll never catch on..."Star Wars", what kind of title is that? 😉
 
I hope it's going to be offered on some site other than that official Serenity site.

You have to register to get in there. I tried to register there once before, and it was like trying to decrypt Navajo code or something.

OT: I just don't get that whole "You must register" mindset anyway, you know? I mean I'm going to assume they put the site up for promotional purposes, then they make it near impossible to get promoted. Do they even really need to know my name is Elmer Finklestein, or F.U. Idiotz born April 1st?

And then they wonder why people download stuff from filesharing apps...

It's apparently going to be on the Apple movie trailer site on Tuesday - not the Serenity site
1PM PST? But thats 9pm GMT (If I figured it out right). I'll be down the pub then, I wan't to see the trailer now! Ah well, will have to wait I suppose.
 
That trailer's pretty action-packed. I'm gonna have to watch the series now. Like the rustic Chinese bullseye looking logo. Still have absolutely no sense of how well this will do commercially....

It makes me dream for a Fray movie.
 
I had already planned to rewatch Firefly during study leave because my Media exam is about Sci-Fi, what a lucky coincidence.

About the trailer. Oh (beat) my god! Makes me want the film now, but its still like 25 weeks away, curses! Favourite bits:

Mal: "I aim to misbehave", gotta love an anti-hero

Wash: "This should be interesting"
Mal: "Define interesting"
Wash: "Oh god oh god we're all going to die?"

River kicking ass in a cheeky little black outfit, love it!

Will have to watch again.
 
now this looks great. I think Joss and co. did a great job on it. Hopefully it will goto number1 when it comes out and who knows a sequel.. It would be funny since it wasnt big on the small screen but could be big on the big screen, the exact opposite of Buffy.

I'm sort of upset that they added sound effects in space. That was Firefly's tademark really. Hopefully they ONLY did it for the trailer, just to attract people from outside our Firefly cult.

Thats what I've read, that the sound effects are for non-FF fans. Apparently Universal are behind the no sound effects thing, so I can imagine its trailer only. As someone (or several someones I suspect) said, this trailer is for the public not the fans, cause we're sure as hell going to go.
 
This'll probably be my favourite film of all time. Going by the trailer I'm not sure if it'll live up to the series, the assassin made it seem a bit cliched. But to see the characters in a big-production trailer like that...it gets me so excited, I really though firefly was dead after that cancellation. The huge anticipation worried me more than anything, but I don't really mind how well the film does, I've got every confidence that I'll love it.
 
Why doesn't Book appear in the trailer or in the cast photo on the site? He IS in the movie isn't he?
 
He does appear in the film, all of the original cast do. The trailer's intention is to reel in new fans and it seems to be using the "action" hook to do so, and a preacher isn't really...enticing. He'll be in the film though.
 
Pity about the sound effects, but it does look brilliant. Let's hope that Joss has kept the series brilliant characterisation.

well i stumbled over this thread to a movie called serenity, its joss whedon.... thought some of you would love this.. or posibly just like it a bit... heres a link to the trailer serenity

It's interesting to me that people are still finding out about it.
