Serenity, why Drogyn wasn't in it

So there I was contemplating the Deeper Well, Drogyn said that the Well went all the way through the world to China.
When Angel and Spike got to the tree in the Cotswolds Drogyn was there. That made me think, didn't Drogyn go to China ? if not why not. Then I realised that Drogyn might not be able to speak Chinese, if so, he'd be no good in Serenity either !.
