Series's Biggest Mistake???

I was wondering what you guys thought was each series biggest mistake?

Connor being brought into Angel?
Dawn into Buffy?
The Potentials?
Spike getting a soul?


Those are just some thoughts on the subject. I really don't know what I think was the biggest mistake for either show. Obviously Connor and Dawn had their share of annoying moments but they were both intrigual to some of the main parts of Buffyverse, so I don't think they were mistakes.

Any thoughts, please share.

I'd say spike getting a chip
I love Buffy; but after looking back, I can see plenty of mistakes. Season Four and Six come to mind automatically. The government and nerds? Really doesn't seem right to me.

Also, something else that comes to mind is the amount of power they gave Willow. She could do virtually anything she wanted to. Another thing is how they completely forgot Dawn's "keyness". And adding in the fact that Buffy was in a mental hospital right after she was called but yet Joyce never mentioned this or even became suspicious of her old habits after Buffy made plenty of jokes about slaying pre-Becoming Part II. A nice little "Oh, so you weren't crazy back in Los Angeles" should have been in Becoming Part II. But we all know that shows are not exactly planned out, and things are added and deducted as time goes on.
 
You mean her stay in the Hospital as explained in Normal Again?!? I thought that was fake.

I think the whole story line of Angel Season 4 wasn't too good. Pylea was also pretty bad.
 
I have to disagree I like both series four of angel and thought the episodes in pylea were some of the best epsidoes ever in the entire buffverse, although not the best

I'd say that for me it was Connor being brought into Angel. I was never comfortable with the idea of Connor being Angel's son and I didn't like the storyline with Darla having Angel's baby and all. I also felt very uncomfortable with Cordelia's and Connor's relationship and I just thought it was wrong! But these are only my opinions! 🙂
 
Connor was a pain in the you know what, but when he returned in the final season he was really cool.

Remember Holtz? The guy from Angel's past who wanted revenge in the worst way, and bugged me so much I stopped watching Angel? Apart from him I can't really think of anything else that really gored my ox on either show.
 
I actually thought holtz character enriched the series and i thought he was kinda scary, more so than most demons angel has faced
 
i think the biggest mistake in this verse was cordy slepping with connor.
i know, it wasn't really cordy, but did anyone know that at the time? no, i didn't! this was wrong for me, and so was the whole jasmine arc.
orpheus is my fave angel ep, but after this ep aired, from then on, S4 went REALLY down hill.

I also thought the whole cordy/connor thing was a mistake and also in buffy the whole buffy/spike thing i thought was kind of stupid
 
It's not an actual plot event, but the continuity in S7 was abominable. As I've said before, I think Joss and co. were trying to outwit spoilers to some extent, and as such, the storyline got bogged down and muddled badly. If I had to pick a bad choice of plotlines, I'd say Conner/Cordy (except for the Oedipal undertones...very creepy).
 
Nothing in Angel gets to me too much. Maybe the season 4 Cordelia could have been handled better, but it wasn't a total disaster.

There's a lot I could pick out from Buffy though. I really dislike the S7 potentials for reasons I gave in the 'Season 7 Potentials Suck' thread.

I strongly think that Anya and Xanders marriage should have gone ahead, it wouldn't have made a big difference to season 7 and would have been a much nicer ending for both characters (presuming that Anya wouldn't have then died).

I didn't like Spike getting a soul, but the Spike/Buffy plot had to go somewhere and I can't think of another thing they could have done. And the ensouled Spike gave some great openings for Angel season 5.

I didn't like Dawn one bit, but I can't imagine season 5+ Btvs without her so I guess it's unfair to comment. And as for Holtz, I thought he was a worthy addition to Angel, I didn't really see a problem with him.
 
I actually liked the whole Jasmine arc in season 4. I thought it was clever and different. I didn't like how it came about (Connor/Cordy), but I liked the "price of freewill" idea.

I didn't like Connor in season 4 at all, but I liked him for those 2 episodes in season 5.

I can see why some might feel season 6 of Buffy was a mistake season, but I disagree. It was nice to see our heroes going through hell. It was nice to see Buffy making the same mistakes over and over again. I don't mean that in a negative Buffy way, I just think it makes her seem more human and flawed. It would be boring if she were perfect.

Really agree about these too. Adam was the only really big mistake on BtVS in my opinion.

Season 7 doesn't at all bother me as much now as it used to. Now that I have seen that season a few times, it's not at all asdisappointing aas it was the first time I saw it, and I accept that it had to come to that and so on, it definitely doesn't ruin anything for me and I even like most parts of it. Spike's soul still bugs me a bit though, and Robin Wood's revenge thing..

Dawn doesn't annoy me at all anymore, really.. I actually really like her..

On Angel though.. there are a lot of things I don't like. Season 5 is the only season in which pretty much nothing bothers me. Connor in season four is just, gah, can't stand him.. Just like Jasmine, and Holtz. I like Wolfram and Heart, they always worked for me but other than that there were no Angel big bads that were that great IMO.. And no great seasons, like on BtVS..
 
OMG, How can you not like Adam, he was a really cool character, although the way they played him being evil could've been better. And Holtz was a really good addition to the story.
 
I think Adam was the biggest mistake too, he's just so boring to watch, a very flat character. And I didn't feel very threatened by him either, wasn't very scary, for me anyway..

There's not much more that I think of mistakes in BtVS, not big ones anyway..

In Angel though, don't like the Pylea thing and Cordy as the queen, nah, but it did bring Fred into the show, and her I really like! Holtz really bugged me the first time, and Justine too, but I've gotten a little used to them I think.. didn't like Cordy/Connor and Cordy going evil much either..

No he was talking about the fact that she admitted to her friends in Normal Again, that she really was in a Mental Institution right after she got called and tried to tell her parents.
 
normal again is my fave buffy ep EVER, but i did think it was a little strange that buffy was just now telling her friends that she was actually in a mental hospital. there should have been some mention of it somewhere between after becoming PT2
 
It would have to be the introduction of adult Connor, and the storyline that played out. This includes the Beast, relationship with Cordelia, Jasmine, and pretty much taking over Wolfram and Hart. (i'm not sure about that one, though. I did enjoy season five)
