Server Issues

It moved alot faster and with no problems when the mods were off.. Just looking at the page loading the "Random Image" sidebar takes a long time to load. Can you turn on and off specific mods to troubleshoot it that way? If you can, I would try the random image and the twitter mod. I know, and granted its with CMS and HTML so its different than it is here, but twitter feeds can sometimes bog down the processing.

Yeah I did try it the other day one at a time and the sidebar, Random quote, and I think the Media Gallery were the bigger offenders. I'll have to look at redesigning some things when I am off work again.

Want to see if cacheing helps at all now that we've turned things back on.
 
Also right now I'm trying to get the rebuild process to finish from turning things back on, so that could be having a negative effect.
 
The server load seems to be going back down... I would just keep monitoring it for awhile.

Apparently the server we are on had issues last night and needed to be rebooted. I am more and more convinced that the problems are not due to us, but I can't prove that lol

I am considering switching to a new host, but it would be a couple weeks yet before I would be able to move anything, so for now I am going to keep monitoring and see what I can do to decrease loading time and errors.

I think there might have been downtime overnight, but to give an idea, we hit the resource limit 19 times in the past 24 hours. Tuesday to Wednesday it was like 1700 times. And the server load is about 20 points less today than yesterday at this time.
 
Wow Buffy that's a lot of hits on the resource limits this week!!!
Must be hard work maintaining it all at the moment so good luck with it all 🙂

It did indeed go down for a while last night, hopefully it'll get sorted soon, I felt quite lost last night when I couldn't sleep and get on here!
 
So, the load on the servers go down while I'm ill.... coincidence?! 😉

Seriously though, thanks for all the hard work @Buffy Summers - is much appreciated. No "stake holders" for the time being... 😀

The server load went down when you were ill - does that mean you caught a computer virus?
 
I'm afraid I don't understand all the tech talk (hence why I had to drop out of the Networking class I tried to take a few years ago 😳), but I am getting a clear picture of the hard work that goes into this place and wow. You are amazing @Buffy Summers. Massive appreciation going your way.
