I'm female and consider myself straight, but really, I don't think anyone is 100% straight or gay.

im not sure if i agree but it does raise the question - what makes a person straight/gay?
I call myself bisexual (and I'm female) but I prefer the term pansexual - although not many people have heard of it and I get bored trying to explain so I just say bi. Although strictly I'm not exactly pan either, but it's a lot closer than bi.

Basically, I don't see someone's gender/sex [note that they're two different things (i.e. whether they're female, male, MTF pre-op or FTM post-op or transexual or hermaphrodite or whatever)] as a restriction on whether they're attractive to me or not. I like the person and then the sex comes second to that.

Although, saying that, I couldn't see myself in a long term relationship with anyone other than a man, although I think that's mainly because I'm currently IN a long term relationship with a man!
 
I'm going to vote that I don't like labels. It's not strictly true, but I always feel like a tosser if I say 'I'm pansexual' or 'pomosexual' or 'omnisexual' and always get that "Ooh, look at JCC being post-modern about who he sticks his nob into".

P.S. I hate the term 'straight'. It's one of those leftover binaries from the days when gay people were 'queers', it implies that everything else is the wrong path.

I remember the kinsey scale said something about men could be 100percent hetereosexual and women could'nt how or never i hate labels to but am a female with a girlfriend so make what you will 😀

It is surprising to me. The numbers of non-straight females seem a good bit lower than I expected. (Which, of course, means I grant LMcD the point for closer non-estimation estimation if the poll stabilizes at the numbers it's at now).

Makes me wonder, though, why straight women on the chat site seem to talk to me more seldomly than the averages would make one expect. (It definitely comes as no surprise that the straight ones usually do not want to do other things with me than talk; that much is firmly to be expected.)
 
Maybe women have just been intergrated into society as being more open-minded. Not saying that all men arn't. but the guys I know generally have a problem with homosexuals. Could it be a social phsycological thing (for want of a simpler term, sorry, my mum has all these neurology books)

What I mean is, Society has taught men to be more closed minded about sexuality then women

To be fair, I think that age has a lot to do with this. A lot of teenage boys just want to fit in. I heard a lot of comments that would be considered homophobic when I was a teenager, and hear such comments much more seldomly now. I have a good friend who is openly gay now, and he used to say sort-of homophobic things. He told me he's known he was gay since he was 16, so I know he didn't believe a lot of the things he said at the time. A lot of other friends of mine who are straight used to throw around terms like "fag" as well, and known of them say that stuff anymore. I think teenage boys just don't want to be seen as falling outside of the norm, and for some reason, a lot of them go through a phase where they think saying nasty things will make them cool. Perhaps it's just insecurity, but I wouldn't say it's really a male trait to be homophobic or closed-minded.
 
I'm female and I love the male gender. I think I would be non-sexual before I'd be gay because I just don't like girls.

Eh, I used to experience that sometimes, I'd be with people and they'd say something homophobic. I'd just tell them to shut up, and they would. (The best reaction is "You know I don't mean you!")
 
I went for not liking labels, mostly because I'm unsure. I've felt attracted towards girls before but I read a magazine article that said that's natural in teenage girls and doesn't prove anything...So I'm stuck between hetero and bi, so unsure would fit me right now.

...What other proof do you need for an attraction to females than an attraction to females?

Did you know that the Pope has devised a clever test for finding out whether members of the clergy are gay or not so he can refuse them priesthood?
