Okay.... the prophesy says, that if Angel does all that "good" and all, and helps out in the coming apocalypse (As if there isn't one every year... sometimes two), then he gets to be human.

What doesn't make sense is that Angel HAS BEEN human. Remeber season one when Buffy visited? he got some of that restorative demon blood, and become human again. But he didn't want it because his strength was gone. So does becoming human at that time... will it be okay then? They can hardly rid the world of evil.
 
If I remeber correctly : he didn't want to be human cause he realized that he couldn't rescue the ones he loves.

I don't think he should become human, but the not-loving and ultimate hapiness- spel should be lifted, so that he can love and get together with Cordy.

That would be right ( lifting the spell, I mean ) don't you think?
 
i think he only wanted to become human once he'd earned it.that his journey to redemption was as important as the result of it.
 
I agree with Charles Gunn that Angel probably wouldn't want to become human until he earned it. I also think that he would want to wait until he is sure that the people around him wouldn't suffer because of him becoming human like what would have happened the last time. I would think that if they did make him human they would wait until the last episode ever of Angel to do it. Otherwise the writters would have to make him have super powers or something because otherwise I don't see how there could be much of a show.
 
If they handled it well they could easily carry on with Angel as a human, in fact it could open up some great story possibilities. Even without vampire strength etc. he would still have all the fighting skills he'd learnt over the years and he'd just have to adapt. We've seen him fight plenty of things stronger than himself and still come out on top through other means. After all the rest of his gang are mainly human and nothing's stopping them...
 
I don't think lifting the curse would be a good idea. Why?.. well as Angelus, he was the most vicious, feared vampire in existence.. the curse was put in place as a punishment, for killing the gypsy girl. He had to remember all those he maimed and kill.. and when he knew true happiness, then he'd become the monster he was before. I don't think he would be as dedicated to helping those who need help, or gaining redemption if he didn't have the curse..

And you know... if and when he gets redemption, he'll still remember those he murdered..
 
This is to Keenangel:
The curse is not the reason he helps people or the reason he wants redemption. He wants them because of himself and Buffy.
 
Angel'sLuvWell, yes the curse partly is the reason. If he wasn't cursed he wouldn't have a soul, and he wouldn't be helping people... The remark about himself and Buffy doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. What are you trying to say? Also, have you seen all of the seasons of Buffy? Maybe that's why the curse thing may be a little unclear. 🙂

Grounded, I have to disagree. I think Angel wouldn't be able to fight if he became human because although he wouldn still have his fighting skills and knowledge, he wouldn't have much strength. That's what happened in the episode "I Will Remember You", if I remember correctly. 🙂
 
I have seen every episode of Buffy atleast twice. My remark to himself and Buffy is explained as thus:

In the episodes Becoming Part 1 and 2 we are shown how Angel lived before he came to Sunnydale. He lived as a dirty homeless person (vampire) who fed off of rats. He was approached by Whistler who told him that he was needed.

quotes:Whistler: This is really an unforgettable smell. This is the stench of death you're giving off here. And the look says, uh... Crazy Homeless Guy. It's not good.

Whistler: Well, yeah, you've been left alone for, what, ninety years already. And what a package you are. The Stink Guy!

Angel went to L.A. and saw Buffy at her old school, Hemery. He then met Whistler in the tunnels and said, and I quote:

Whistler: She's gonna have it tough, that Slayer. She's just a kid. The world's full of big, bad things.
Angel: I wanna help her. I want...I wanna become someone.
Whistler: God, jeez, look at you. She must be prettier than the last Slayer. This isn't gonna be easy. The more you live in this world, the more you see how apart from it you really are. And this is dangerous work. Right now, you couldn't go three rounds with a fruit fly!
Angel: I wanna learn from you.
Whistler: Alright.
Angel: But I don't wanna dress like you.
Whistler: Again, you're annoying me. You're lucky we need you on our side.

So you see He fights the good fight for Buffy at first and then when he leaves her, he fights for his redemption.

Am I making any sense? Please tell me if I'm not.

Ok, now I understand what you were trying to say. LOL
 
Maybe Buffy was the inspiration to help others.. but now he does it for his own redemption... which brings me to another point... if you're claiming (validly) that Angel decided to help the helpless at first because of Buffy?... why did he help Judy, the girl in the hotel of "Have You.." from Season 2 Angel?.. yes, i know he failed because of the paranoia, but after a short while, once Judy had gotten through his self imposed barriers, he did help her.. hiding the money.. that sort of stuff.. This all happened almost forty years before meeting Whistler and ultimately Buffy 🙂
