So it's known that Emma wanted to get outta BtVS. My question: Why?

She loaths the industry, she said it just wasn't something she wanted to be around anymore
 
I think she said in an interview that she never planned to be a series regular. She tends to dislike being in the same part for too long and Anya had initially been a one-episode part. She did love being on the show, but she felt her time as Anya had come to an end because she didn't want to get to a point where she hated her job. She wanted to go out on a high so-to-speak. Which was why she wanted Anya killed off whether the series ended or not.

Well she was fantastic actress in the show, so kudos to her? Is she a full time comedy girl is she? I got the sense that she more was into comedy, then acting....
 
Actually in an interview I think Emma said she thought she wasn't a very funny person and that the comedy was all down to Joss. However everyone else disagrees with her and says she's excellent at comedy so she's like hey-hey! haha.

oh i read that once, aint it like how stand ups can be great dramatic actors?
I wouldn't have been able to go on if it had gone into season eight on TV and Emma had left...No Anya, No Tara...what's a girl to do? 😛

LOL yep! I dunno what I would've done without Anya or Tara...probably watch the eighth season just about as much as I watch the first two [not often]
I would also have had trouble watching season 8 without Anya. As it is now, I can't watch "Chosen" without being sad every time Anya comes on the screen. I know what's going to happen to her, and it's slightly depressing...God, I sound like a bit of a loser here. 🙂

I actually was unaware she wanted to leave, well it worked out for her okay in the end, anyway. She seems like such a well put together lady, I can understand her not liking the Hollywood scene.
 
At the Reunion this year, when she was relfecting on the show, she seemed so convicted in her choice not to have wanted to carry on the show and for the show to end when it did.

Which is fair enough.

Especially if it was because she really wasn't enjoying it. No better excuse. Go girl!
