'Ships That Haven't Set Sale Yet

Due to Dark Horse pretty much controlling the entire Buffyverse as of Season 9, we have the opportunity to do something that we haven't been able to do since the finale of Season 5 of "Buffy," namely, to pair up any two people in the combined casts of both shows. Therefore, take this time to create any couple who you would like to see together, with no regards to which show they "belong" to. Only two rules:

1) This has to be a 'ship that has never happened before (no Spuffies, Bangels, Twillows, or any other previous couples)

2) Specify the type of relationship as to a) long term; b) short term; or c) one night stand. For this discussion, anything that consists of just occasional mutual comfort/recreation fall under the "short term" category. "Just good friends," does not qualify in any category unless actual sex is involved.

As for me:

1) Spike and Faith- One night stand or VERY short term. (Buffy finds out about it and is definitely jealous, whether of Spike or Faith doesn't have to be specified)

2) Dawn and Connor - Love at first sight. Can't keep their hands off of each other. (But Xander doesn't really mind, because...) Long term.

3) Xander and Angel- Angel has carried a secret torch for Xander ever since "School Hard" when he pretended to capture him and take him to Spike. Angel still wakes up at night, drenched in cold sweat, with the memory of those few moments that they shared. As for Xander, that "Kick his ass" comment to Buffy was secret feelings for Angel, and if he couldn't have him, nobody was going to. Definitely long term.

4) Spike and Illyria- One night stand. (Buffy and Faith find out about it and are BOTH jealous)

So now it's your turn. Just remember, this has to be a COMPLETELY NEW 'ship as far as Buffyverse canon goes. It's never actually happened either on TV or in the comics.

I would have loved to see Faith and Connor get together, they had some scenes in Orpheus that made me ship them.

Another couple that I wanted to see, and still do 🙂, is Anya and Andrew. They would have been so cute and funny together, and they had some chemistry is season 7!

I actually even consider Dawn and Connor now too. They are a lot alike. And comic Connor is really cool I think he's the most mature in the comics and I could see him and Dawn together.

Anyway, my choice should be obvious.

Buffy/Faith - Long term. Given how much they've both matured, all they need is some quality time together when the world isn't about to end and they're surrounded by annoying people.
Given that, I think they can rekindle the old flame. It'll take a lot of work but it can be done.

Willow & Illyria, although I would definitely prefer it to be Fred 🙁. Anyway, I'm thinking of short-term or one night stand for that. Preceded with much fighting LOL.

I've been thinking about how much I want Faith to be in a relationship, but I'm talking about long-term. I think it'd be really interesting to see her & a partner struggle with all her baggage and watch her grow. I just always see her as so alone, & it makes me sad. Can't decide who the partner would be though. She & Giles have good chemistry in the comics, but I can't get over the age difference. He definitely understands her best though, with his Ripper side. Wes would be another, but he's not alive in the most recent IDW comics, right? I just don't think she & Buffy would ever work, sorry Nikkolas. Faith & Spike might really work though, but they haven't interacted much in season 8. And yeah, I could see Faith & COnnor, esp with his development in the comics (just from what I've heard, I haven't read the IDW comics). Or Faith & Angel, but I doubt he'll be considered trustworthy by anybody, after the Twilight stuff resolves.

And I want Andrew with someone!! Again, don't know who that is yet, probably a new character. But I don't know if he'll survive the season- he is one of my potentials for the big death.

And of course I'll always vote for Spangel LOL! I've loved Buffy's 2 dreams with them together.

I'd love Xander/Spike obviously. They've so much in common. One day I'll make a post about that. But reading a lot of meta on the net, it's so creepy how similar they are, they'll make a great snarky couple if they'll ever give it a go.

Willow and Fred. Definitely. Even if it were short term it would be so much better than Killow!!

I also read a fic with Kennedy and Dawn. Sounds interesting and it could work!!

Spike and Faith, but very short term, and only as a means to snap Buffy out of her 'Angel is perfection' vision. Because I'm still Spuffy at heart. 😛

Andrew and Xander. Those two are made for each other, I'm convinced. And Andrew's grown up quite a bit since Season 7, so maybe...

I really like the idea of Dawn & Connor, although season 8 Dander has really grown on me.

And this might not be a popular sentiment but I like Kennedy better in season 8 than I did in season 7. But not with Willow. I wish she & Satsu with get together, they're better matched. That way: leaving Willow free for Fred or Illyria!

haha yeah, that could be funny... but still. I just don't see that as a good thing. I'm at the Illyria part of my Angel season 5 re-watch... so maybe after re-watching some of their interactions, I'll get more in the Spillyria spirit... but right now, the thought kind of sickens me... not as bad as Dawn/Xander... but it still sickens me.

Ooo, this thread is fun!

Okay, here goes:

1) Faith and Willow. Spend five minutes talking with xfivebyfive and she'll show you just why those two would work so well. Long term.

2) Faith and Dawn. There's a huge dose of "cool aunty" there, but also a sort of smitten first love crush aspect from Dawnie. Mid term.

3) Faith and Veruca. What? Oh come on, surely I can't be the only one in the fan base to like Ru? Of course, Ru will always be primarily paired with Oz, but I see lots of kinky S&M between her and Faith. Ru's fiesty and mouthy, but Faith would certainly slap her into place. Short term just for sex.

4) Giles and Dawn. Lolita, anyone? Mid term with an option on long term.

5) Tara and Buffy. They had a fantastic connection on the show. Definitely Long term.

6) Xander and Angel. I love Avenger's idea of Angel still fantasizing about the time he had Xander in his hands, pretending to capture him. Can totally see that.

7) Spike and Angel. I see these two kinda like I see Faith/Buffy. If they're not fighting they're getting it on.

8) Willow and the Buffybot. Don't look at me like that. Sure, why not? Just for sex.

9) Glory and Spike. They'd fight for sure. Probably about who gets to go on top. One night stand.

10) Dawn and Tara. Tender teaching. Mid term.

Alright, I'll stop here. Could do this one all day. Love it.

Oh my, so many possibilities!

It's Dawn and Conner for me all the way. I've always thought they would make a terriffic couple. The two have a lot in common, after all. Long term, for sure.

As for a one-night stand, I'd agree about Faith and Spike. Can you spell h-o-t? 😉
