LOTS of people think IT is a terrifying movie, but I watched it and found it to be the most painful, boring, ridiculous, stupid, unscary four hours I've experienced in my life. There was potential in there, somewhere, but the movie completely lacked any buildup to any scares, and buildup is the key, you can't just show something scary happen as soon as a scene starts and expect it to frighten anyone but younger viewers.

I completely loathed the movie and I wonder if the book is better and scarier, but I kind of don't want to read it just because the movie was so unbelievably lame. The acting was so bad, the script and dialogue were absolutely atrocious, and all the "scares" where more funny than anything.

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with someone being scared of it if they were scared because it traumatized them as a child, but still...this movie is horrible.

It definitely needs to be remade, and they should leave out that unintentionally hilarious spider.

I probably would have agreed with you if I'd have watched the film for the first time now, or even 6 years ago, but because I watched it when I was a kid it scared me ridiculously. I had a clown town that was thrown out because I couldn't have it in my room, everytime I went the bathroom I had to have one of my parents stand outside the door incase IT came out the plug whole lol It was probably the only scary film my parents let me watch.

The funny thing is, I like scary films now. I watch horror flicks all the time and find them ok to watch 🙂
