Should Angel and Spike be held accountable for their soulless actions?

Whoring around and being a drunk does not make one a bad person, it makes one an irresponsible person. That's like telling a teenager who skips class and gets drunk every weekend instead of studying that they're bad person. Making good choices, doesn't make one a good person. A sociopath who uses everyone in their life to better themselves can hold a steady job, have a wife and kids, be witty and charismatic, etc. but if their intentions are bad, well, then they are bad...in my opinion.

Angel/Liam made some bad choices but he was by no means a bad person. He was just irresponsible, but he cared about his family and he really only wanted his father's approval...but he felt that nothing he ever was good enough, so maybe that led to the drinking/whoring around.

Yeah, sociopaths like what you described are bad people; I wasn't disputing that. Whoring around and being drunk shows not only that he is irresponsible, but that he has no regard and respect for other people. His intentions aren't bad in that he actively wants to harm people, but they are selfish.

Anyway, my point in the quoted post wasn't that he was a bad person, but that he wasn't a good man.

Haha I don't really see the difference. So a teenager who does those things isn't a bad person, just a bad kid? A woman is just a bad woman? Cause I've never heard anyone called either of those things, ever. Or is this like...the traditional man thing? Maaaaybe I'm just being stubborn.
