Should Angel have cared about Spike's restored soul?

Should he have cared or should he have just let it go?

One positive thing on Spike's side is that he "wanted" his soul and Angel really didn't ask to get his soul via the gypsy curse.

I mean it was a natural reaction for him to care for many reasons, one Angel was the ONLY one in the world that had a soul and now there's somebody else that has one, he's no longer unique. Also Spike and Angel have always had a sort of competitive edge between them, and plus in a sense Spike is the better vampire then Angel, because Spike sought to get a soul he wasn't cursed like Angel is. So Spike can live a better/happier life then Angel, because Spike won his soul and Angel didn't, so Angel can't have perfect happiness, can't really enjoy his life, because if he does the soul is taken from him, however Spike can have perfect happiness, enjoy his life, have fun and not brood.

I think Angel put it pretty well too. He's been miserable for a few hundred years right? Spike goes nuts for the course of a couple months, and he's all good.

The Angel-Soul thing seemed a bit odd to me too. I never got why Uber-Willow couldn't just re-soul Angel without having to use the curse approach.

He probably didn't like it because with Spike having a soul, his humanity was at jeopardy, the whole reason why he kept fighting.

Plus it was kind of an Angel trademark that lost it's awesomeness when Spike followed suit. Because Spike is better than Angel.

Well he was jelaous. I mean if you got the chance to win something THAT BIG....and you were sure you were going to get it at some point...and then someone else came along and had the chance to get it, wouldnt you feel similar?

Yeah I agree, of course Angel is going to be jealous and a bit cranky. He can also smell Spike on Buffy, so it's like another vampire with a soul just walked into his territory. Angel needs to be cut a break

Plus on top of that Angel got his soul from a curse, he was being punished. However Spike sought out his soul, he was virtually tortured just so he could be a better man for Buffy, which in the end makes Spike and better man then Angel. Because even though Angel is a powerful force of good, his demon self Angelus didn't want to gain his humanity back, Spike did. Even if it was for a girl he still did it, which is something they spoke about in the episode of Angel when they battled for the cup of Mountain Dew.

yeah I think the whole soul thing was kind of funny. The fact that he is so jealous of Spike just adds in the humor of the Spike/Angel rivalry. But yes I have to agree that Spike should feel more gratitude about his soul since he wanted it badly enough.

Spike didn't just get his sould 'for buffy'. he did it because he recognised that he was neither 'man or monster' and HE WANTED to be 'somening' instead of nothing. so while buffy was extrinsic motivation, his desire for the soul was the more important intrinsic motivator.

I always wonder if Angel realised that Spike and Buffy had a sexual relationship before spike had a soul because the events of Chosen are his first indication that Spike is part of Buffy's life and in Destiny Angel says Spike only got his soul to get into a girl's pants - but spike had already done that.

Right before he left he went on about how she was get her's and blah blah blah... It was all for her, People give spike to much thinking credit then he's worth.
