Should Cordelia have been in the finale?

Well i agree with The watcher, plus it would of been great if they had Cordy flashbacks showing her influence on Angel over the past five years,The only thing would of erked me was that had they bought buffy into your welcome that would of meant no closure for Cordy and how would Buffy redeem Angel when we saw a taste of her attitude towards Angel in damage?
That would of been contradiction of what the writers bought to the ep.

Anya's death was WAY different. They were showing the ethics of war. People in war dont get to be mortally wounded and give a big speech before they finally die. They, usually, die quick deaths...unless ur bleeding to death. Then you can, if u feel up to it, which i dont think you would be because hello mortal wound plus major pain and all, you can give a speech that would give you a fitting end.
Cordelia was given a chance to set "her boy" on the right track by the powers, after being in a coma for nearly a year. WAY different.

I think it was my post that you were responding to. Heck yes, Anya's death was way different. My point was just that you can't have it both ways. In a major battle with lots of players, there may just not be enough time to contemplate individual fates, even deaths. In contrast Cordelia left Angel in the episode "You're Welcome" in a way that befitted her character's contribution to both of Joss Whedon's series.

It may have been appropriate for Cordelia to have revived just before the end and come back to be with her team in "Not Fade Away"-assuming Charisma Carpenter had been available and willing to return at that point. But I don't think it would have worked well to have had seen her come back yet again in the finale after her departure in "You're Welcome" as it actually happened. Flashbacks would have been more appropriate.

Cordy could have returned!

In Not Fae Away, I think she deserved to be there. But then again, so did Fred.

They gave everyone a way to exit off the show. So everything is left at peace.

For me personally, I thought the ending they gave Cordy was excellent and I wouldn't have changed it. Maybe if they had done "You're Welcome" differently, and she had stuck around, then it sure would have been neat to see her in the ATS finale (as she was in the premiere of BTVS, which was the "root show" to ATS). But I really did love "You're Welcome", even though I wasn't a huge Cordy fan at the time, that episode was enough to make me one, her character was just shining in that episode, she was captured awesomely. And that in mind, I think it would have been too much to bring her back in "Not Fade Away". They already gave us closure on her character, and bringing her back again would have just been too much, and too soon, I think. 🙂

i think cordy should have been in the finally, even if it was just brought up in the memory by one of the other characters, and why did joss kill the two girls!!!!!!!!!!!!! i liked the darkness of the finally thogh, i thought the whole series of angel was much darker and scarier than buffy

Even though I loved the ending to her character in 'You're Welcome', I would have loved to have seen her in the finale, even if it was just briefly. She could have come back as a ghost in one of the characters dreams or something, or appeared as a ghost to all of them. Or even a flashback would have been ok.
