Should I watch Angel or Read Buffy first?

So I bought Season 8 of Buffy, Library edition volume 1 and 2. And I was wondering should I watch Angel or read the buffy comics first? because I know Angel makes a cameo in the comics and I might not be fully understanding some stuff.

By "Watch Angel first," are you saying that you haven't seen the TV series yet? If so, then you should definitely do that, then read IDW's "Angel" line that follows up on the events of Season 5 of that series, then just read the "After The Fall" arc and the two "Spike" miniseries, and you should be okay. They're the only part of IDW's series that are considered canon.

Season 8 and the IDW series arcs mentioned above run pretty much consecutively, so you could read them both together, since Angel doesn't really pop up in Season 7 until almost the end of the Season.

I have the All the Angel comics. 1-44 + the yearbook. I havent watched the angel tv series yet. I watched Buffy, So what do I do now? read the buffy comics or watch angel and then read the buffy comics and then read the angel comics? Sorry for bothering you btw.
 
Watch Angel, you NEED to watch both the TV shows before you go anywhere near the comics. You will be hopelessly confused if you try to read any of the comics without watching Angel, even though S8 is Buffy's comic.

Another vote for watching Angel! Not only will it help understanding the comic, but if you're a fan of Buffy, it would just be a travesty not to watch AtS!
 
Definitly watch Angel first- it gives you an important perspective on loads of the important Buffyverse characters: Cordelia, Wesley, Faith, Angel himself, and Spike.

It will make the comics seem richer and in fact some character arcs won't really make sense without seeing the entire series (mostly Faith's but also Spike and Angel). 🙂
