Should I watch "Dollhouse"?

Should I watch "Dollhouse"? I've been meaning to but never been able to remind myself when an episode was on TV when it aired 🙁 my best friend has been reminding me to watch a new episode every time but I keep forgetting.

How is Eliza's acting in the series? Is it just as good as it was on "Buffy" and "Angel"? How's the plot of the series? I hope it's not confusing like LOST.

I would definitely recommend it, I really enjoyed it and there are a lot of appearances of actors from Buffy/Angel/Firefly, which is pretty cool.
 
I love Dollhouse! My love for the show is actually what convinced me to start watching Buffy.


The beginning first episodes of the show are pretty filler-ish, but I'm sure if you give it a chance you could at least find out if you like it at all

Yes. Obviously I'm biased because I really love Dollhouse, but I would say that there's no harm in checking it out if you feel an interest. Watch a couple of eps (it takes a few for it to warm up) and if it keeps you interested then go on watching and if not then you can give it up 🙂

I'd really recommend giving it a try though, I didn't think much of Eliza's acting at first but as I've been re-watching the series I find there's a lot of subtleties in her work in it and that though at times I feel that the focus on her character is a bit silly (the others are very interesting too) it certainly doesn't take away from the show for me.
 
You should watch it just because it's a Joss Whedon show. Seriously, I was hesitant at first, because I heard a lot of things about the show, but I had faith in Joss, so I decided to give it a shot. And believe me, you will not be disappointed.

You should give it a shot, but do be aware that it starts off incredibly slow. The shows concept is awesome but the overall execution isn't nearly as good as some of Whedon's other work.

I liked Eliza in Dollhouse, although her character reminded me of Faith at times. The acting in the series was good; that def. isn't what caused the show to be canceled. 😉
 
I LOVE Dollhouse. I have seen it two times the whole way through, working on my third. Echo is a very interesting character who gets even cooler as time goes on.
 
Yes yes yes yes yes plus yes times googol. Dollhouse, if given a chance, is an incredible ride.

I will echo, however, what others have said about the show's slow start. It's true but ultimately necessary because it very effectively sets up the latter half of the series which is ridiculously rewarding.

Stop reading, start watching!

I liked it from the start, but I do know that some people feel that it starts slow. I think Eliza does a good job, & all the different personas give her a wide range to work with. I definitely wish we had more; there were more stories to be told.
 
Seasons 1 and 2 were like different shows... but I got my Topher fix so no big. Not to mention random Patton Oswolt made my day. Kind of whished we got more on Alpha... but not enough to keep track of the comics.

Eliza's acting is pretty bad at times and some of the episodes are ri.di.cu.lous (and I'm a huge fan of ridiculous situations...but oh boy) however, it's worth watching, in my opinion. I watched it for the first time a few months ago and I'd watch it again.

The ones liking the show will say yes, others will warn you about it. I say give it a chance. If you don't like it don't bother. You should try and watch up until episode 6, Man on the street. Some love the show from the start, some thinks the show really get going with that episode. I love more episodes in the second part of the first season but it all comes down to taste. You won't know until you've tried it yourself.

I'll also add that to me, the more I knew about the story the better I liked the show. Which meant that I enjoyed the show more the second time I watched. Even though there were no surprises that time around.

I'm kind of in the same boat--should I watch it, or skip it... Honestly, the only reason I started watching a couple of episodes last night was because I just finished watching Angel, and I miss Fred so darn much. I need more Amy Acker. I noticed, though, that she is listed in the opening credits as "guest starring", even though it looks like she's in every episode. Does her role become larger/ more developed later on? It's quite a difference from Winifred, but, so far, she handles the role very well. You get a sense that there's much more to her behind that poor little face.

So far, I'm not terribly impressed with the show in general, but it is better than I thought it would be. Dushka's acting has never done it for me, but it is an interesting concept, and I'm pretty desperate to watch any new Josh Whedon shows these days. (Terribly excited about the new Much Ado About Nothing coming out this year, with Acker and Denisof partnering it up again. It's about frakkin' time, JW.)
