With part of Season Eight being Buffy vs The Government, does anyone think Riley and his girl (Sam?) would fit in nicely somewhere in Season 8, even if it's just for an episode or two?

They could show up to help out the Scoobs, or be against them; either works for me. (Although, against them works better for me, just for fun.)

I could see how he could tie into the story some how and i dont doubt that he would be brought back however i persona didnt care for riley. So ether way i would be happy.

I'd like to see Riley again, but his story was wrapped up pretty nicely so it wouldn't kill anything if he didn't come back.

I think Riley's story has wrapped up so I don't think we could ever have a major arc-altering or effecting appearance from him, but considering what we've seen of the government's involvement I think it's entirely plausible that as Buffy gets in a tight spot with them Riley pops up for a brief-saving-the-day cameo appearance.

Also, from someone whose not-too-keen on Buffy's most recent relationship, I would love (Sam complications aside) for Riley and Buffy to have one great night of we're-apart-but-let's-go-it-one-last-time-for-old-time's-sake-since-we-might-not-see-each-other-again-and-we-both-know-from-As-You-Were-that-we-still-have-some-feelings-for-one-another sex. Albeit that's a reaaaaaally long pre-modifying sentence for the comshuck in question, but still, you get the picture. Well, not the actual picture 'cause that would be wrong, but...ah you know what I'm sayin'!

I would rather see Riley come back in the "Angel" series, unless we could have a Season 8 arc or even just a stand alone that features Spike. I really think Spike should get the opportunity to kick Riley's a** just once for all of the crap he had to take when he had the chip and couldn't defend himself

Just to make it interesting, Riley could come back as a vampire and Spike could be the one to stake him AFTER kicking him up and down every hill, mountain, and valley in the Scottish Highlands.

that would be funny
that would be a good idea to have riley turn up in angel, all Buffy's ex's having to band together to fight evil

Just found this:

It's not just Buffy's regular supporting cast that Whedon has plans for in "Buffy." He also hopes to check in with loads of other characters like Buffy's ex-boyfriend, government monster slayer, Riley Finn. "I have plans for everybody," Whedon said. "I cannot tell you if these plans will come to fruition because somebody might have a better idea. Or we might run out of steam. Or people might reject the comic wholesale. Although I'm hoping they don't - I'm hoping they reject it retail. [Laughs] But I've thought about how everybody could fit in."

Well... yesterday, I felt the need to watch the Thanksgiving episode of season 4. Of course, this led to me watching the one after that, and the one after that, and the one after that. Along the way, I rediscovered Riley Finn -- early, pre-vamp-whores Riley Finn. I really like Riley. I'd like to see him come back, even if only for a short guest appearance.

Note: Watching Angel come back to hide whilst helping, watching Riley flirt, and watching Spike stumble around looking for food was a pretty interesting way to compare those three love interests.

Hell no. I don't really want Riley back. Because if he's back, that coul bring back the possibility or interaction with Buffy and that leads to a lot of unneeded drama.

I could see Riley and Sam popping up somewhere down the line. They could be in the same country/city area Buffy and co. are in.

You said it Social Suicide- Hell No! I hate Riley. I wouldn't even read the comic if he was in it. He's obnoxious and I don't like him with Buffy. He is just kind of one of those characters whose exit you pray for, and once he's gone you thank God its over.

I really hope Captain Cardboard doesn't make a reappearance.

I could see Reilly and Sam turning up at some point (well, maybe not Sam, but Reilly) - they would fit in well with the military aspect of the comic and it might be interesting if he were at odds with Buffy's cause in some way. I don't think it would mean a rekindling of their love affair though. I agree with White Avenger, it would be such a shame for reilly to make an appearance and for Spike not to be there to have a shot at him.
