Should they have brought Buffy back?

I think both yes and no.

They thought they were doing the right thing bringing her back- since they thought that she was in a hell dimension. However, (I think this was mentioned in another post) they should have researched further possibilities for her whereabouts. That being said though, without actually proving where she was I doubt they could just let her stay there. They were her friends after all and wanted her to be alive. If you put yourself in their shoes for a moment and were presented with an opportunity to bring back someone you loved, I'm sure you would at least consider it.

There are a few parts about it that I don't like:
Keeping it from Giles and Spike. Not telling them incase something bad happened and it didn't work...cop out. Definately more along the lines of trying to avoid being convinced out of doing it because the spell is very dangerous. Not only for Buffy for everyone involved. Willow definately wanted to prove that she was capable of handling it. Pretty much either her way or the highway.
Second thing, not really giving Buffy the support that she needed once she was back. They all just expected her to bounce back and be her usual self. Not taking into account that she was damaged from what had happened to her. Everyone was so quick to be like 'yay, Buffy is back' without really grasping the true consequences of what life would be like once she was back. I think Willow being offended by Buffy not thanking her is a strong precursor for the season as a whole. Definately heading down the road of the 'easy fix' solution to a problem without thinking it through properly.
Thirdly, their reaction to Buffy's relationship with Spike. Considering he was the one person (except for Tara) who showed her any form of support or understanding, it's actually not all that surprising that they ended up the way they did.

So I can understand why they did it and I would probably have done the same thing, I just think that they should have researched better beforehand, informed everyone and then been more supportive once she was back.

I think that it was a bad idea that willow made but I don't think it was a bad idea the the writers made. Put it this was if she didn't come back there would be no season 6&7 and I know not many people like season 6&7 but that means we would have no final battle and no musical episode!

I'm going to ask a question regarding the slayer line as discussed prior to this, Buffy drowned and died... activating Kendra. Kendra later was killed by Drucilla, which activated Faith. But in the mist of all that Buffy was still alive. What I don't understand is if Kendra and Faith were the "OFFICIAL" slayers, why was Buffy still obligated to her duty to be a slayer?

This is a plothole that always felt weird to me. I can see where Buffy would feel obligated to continue being a Slayer after Faith went rogue, but one thing I never understood was why there was such a big emphasis on Buffy being "THE" Slayer in Season 7, when technically, Faith should have had much more physical power than Buffy.

Hmm, yes, and no. I mean, with Buffy gone, and Faith in jail, Sunnydale would have been pretty much defenceless from all demon activity if they hadn't bought her back to kick demon ass. However, it was rash, but they thought that Buffy was in a Hell Dimension due to the circumstances of her death.

I think if we're deciding in the moment when it happened, I would've said no because it wouldn't have seemed right. I would want her back just like the characters did but I would've had my reservations about it. All I kept thinking the first time I watched Bargaining was when Dawn tried to bring Joyce back & how creepy & wrong it felt. Although Joyce did die natural causes where Buffy did not. But if we're looking at the big picture, knowing that Buffy would make it through everything that it entailed, of course I would say yes, bring her back 😀
