Should they have utilized Amy more this season?

I think she could have stayed around longer & been an interesting addition to the cast. She definitely had the potential to provide conflict & become one of the big bads. I could see her turning on Willow to team up with the trio

I would have liked that. Amy vs. Willow. And maybe it gets too out of hand between them that Tara gets caught in the crossfire which leads to Willow going all dark on the asses of Amy and the trio.

I would have preferred if she had been the big bad to be honest. Well...I mean I guess the trio wasn't really. Dark Willow was. Maybe we would have been tricked into believing that Amy was, but then Willow would have killed her and voila...but would that mean that Amy would have killed Tara? Or would Tara have lived? Maybe Amy would have taken Willow's place as the big bad and Tara would have lived 🙁

I would have loved to see Amy around more... I think they missed out on a great opportunity with her in this season.

I thought they used her just enough. There was so much going on already, do bring her in anymore would have changed so much. I liked that they even brought her back. From her early appearance to my favorite appearance (in Something Blue) until Season Six, I thought they did it perfect- then to later let her make an even darker appearance in season seven.. good stuff!! Not too much, just around 'wanting a little more'

I dunno.....season 6 is my favorite, but Amy did feel kinda under-utilized. They could have gone deeper into it. Amy and Willow's entire interactions were basically:

Amy: Just take one puff, just one.
Willow: Okay.
Amy: Okay, just one more.
Willow: But I can't, I'm trying to do right.
Amy: It's just a cigarette, don't be such a wuss. Take this cigarette!!
Willow: OMG, why would you do that?
Amy: Your lame. I thought your were "cool". See ya!

I think that some of the special-effects which come up with witches would have been cool to watch in season 6 if Amy had appeared more often! Love all those spells and things...
I whished there could be some more of these moments in which Willow and Amy had fun together and then Tara appears. Like the scene in the kitchen...

I think that more time should have been spent on Amy this season. Suddenly she isnt a rat, and has missed what 4 years of her life? I would think there would be more distress and anger than what there seemed to be. And I think she would have been a great "fake" big bad whereas Willow was the real one. But it would be hard to structure that without making Willow seem completely evil and not just looking for revenge.

I liked her in the high school seasons. But in season 6 I couldn't stand her. So I'd prefer her not to be around that much.

I was thinking one day that Amy would have been a better big bad in this season, either by herself or in conjunction with the Trio. It seemed strange that she was in high school with them, and a rat for how many seasons, mentioned throughout, then when she turns back human she's here for two eps, then *poof* gone without mention..

I gotta disagree 😀 to me season 6 big bad are the characters themselves and their own personal demons. In other terms, life. And the trio represents how this seasons isn't about some fancy big snake or super vampire, just ordinary life that can destroy you. The characters had no excuse to avoid introspection, there was no room for metaphor.

So I don't think that Amy would have been a good big bad, it would have divert the attention from how central the personal crisis were in terms of storyline.

But seriously, I would have liked to have seen more of her. She spent 2 years as a rat; how she managed to cope with that afterwards is not really shown.

No, simply because I was really confused about the post-rat Amy's behavior versus how she was in high school. There was enough magic and spells being done in and around that time that more of it would've been just overkill. Maybe had they taken her in a different direction than they did but her character was just being used to get Willow closer to being dark so ... nah, she should've stayed ratty. 😛

Nope. I stopped liking Amy in Season Two, when she becomes a witch. I'm not sure what the writing staff was going for with this. Was it their way of showing how, sometimes, we become our parents? I mean, Amy was living a seemingly ordinary life with her father. After the hell her mother put her through why on earth would she turn to magic in the first place? The power? I don't know. I wasn't really fond of Amy as a character, and I find that you honestly don't miss her for the next seasons. I know I had an "oh yea, they kept her as a rat" reaction to seeing her return.

The whole "magic is a drug"bit in season six was too blatant and a tad un-Joss-like way to approach the series. For me Willow's "addiction" to magic was evident from season two onwards, and didn't require an actual "omg, Willow's seeing a drug dealer for her daily fix of magics!" It seemed forced. If they actually wanted to approach the situation, why need a drug dealer at all?😕 Why not just have Amy turn her over to the dark side? 😕 This is a major reason for my disliking season six--but that's a separate topic.

I guess my answer is "no". I disliked Amy's character in season two, and I'm a little short of hating her in season six. She wasn't needed.
