Should Willow have told Buffy that Angel lost his soul?

When Willow gets the call from Fred that Angelus is back, she tells Buffy that she has to go away for a day or so and that everything is fine. Now clearly she succeeds with Faith there and everything works out with Angel, but I was kind of thinking: Angel losing his soul was a huge, huge deal the first time around. It was pretty much Buffy's entire world. I know she had a lot going on with The First and leading the potentials, but she would want to know.

I know she had her hands full, and that she probably would have insisted on going to L.A. with Willow, so I suppose I get why she did it, but Buffy would have wanted to know. Really, considering everything her and Angel were and are to each other, she should have known. What do you guys think?
 
I think she should have told Buffy...I loved the Angelus/ buffy relationship that they had for a good half of season 2. It would have been cool to see that again. But I think that this time around Buffy wouldn't have been so hesitant to kill angellus as she was the first time.
 
Maybe she does end up telling Buffy, we just don't see it. There's not really any reason why Willow wouldn't tell her if Buffy asked what happened in LA, and the show didn't imply that she was ever hiding it or anything.

If you look at it from a writing perspective, I just think that kind of detail is not really important to Buffy's show anymore, and with everything going on in Season 7 I don't think the writers would have the time to dedicate a scene or even a mention to that. Especially if it opens up a whole new can of worms since it's a huge plotline on AtS.
 
Why would she? Buffy did have her hands full with her own Sunnydale problems, so it was wise not to bring in any more from LA. Chances of Angelus interfering in Sunnydale were next to nothing. If Buffy asked, then sure. But she didn't.

Buffy had her hands full dealing with The First and the Bringers. If she would have left Sunnydale to go to Angel I would have lost all respect for the character.

Thankfully Willow took the decision into her own hands and let Buffy concentrate on the task at hand.

Although, seeing The Beast beat the hell out of Buffy would have been fun to see...

Not so sure about that, she had über vamps around to do that to her really...

Anyway, I'm glad that we didn't get to see Willow tell Buffy, and I don't think she did, because it would have been the smartest thing to do. Telling Buffy that would have made for a distraction that she could ill afford at the time. She had her hands full of her own world of problems so knowing about Angel wouldn't have done her much good at that point.
 
I don't think she should have told her. As others have already said, Buffy already had her hands full dealing with everything else going on around her; she didn't need to worry about Angelus, too.
 
I dont know... Even If Willow had told Buffy about it I dont think Buffy would have left anyways.
Willow was the only one capable of doing anything about it Buffy knows this.
Buffy also knows her first prioity is the house full of slayers in training.
Yeah she would have flipped but between Xander Willow and Dawn I think she would make the right call and stayed in Sunnydale.

Willow just cut out the middle man and went stright to work
 
There was way too much going on. She did her a huge favor by not saying anything. She knew she could restore his soul, and she did, so it's totally understandable that she didn't mention it. What always bothered me is that Buffy didn't seem to know about Connor. She never mentioned him, but Willow knew of his existence when she arrived. It just seems weird...why wouldn't Buffy know about him? Sorry I'm off track.
 
Without a doubt, she should have told her. It was obvious that Buffy still cared for Angel, and if Angelus was back, she would obviously want to know so she could decide on a plan of action regarding him, whether it meant going with Willow to help, or staying out of it.
 
From a character standpoint it must have been Fred who gave Willow the lowdown....or magic

From a witeing standpoint its easyer
I find the hardest thing to write is a character greetings with large groups
Exsample this is gunn this is fred this is connor...blah blah
More intresting if Willow can crack a joke a connors exspence and talk about the broodieness of Connor being genetic

Don't sell Buffy short. Certainly, the Beast could more than handle Faith, but it must be remembered that she was almost definitely not at the top of her game, having just spent the last 3 years fighting nothing more formidable than some angry inmate with a shiv. Buffy, on the other hand, had been fighting, and more importantly, learning, for all that time. Faith and Buffy might have been a close match in Season 3, but in Season 7, Buffy would have been easily the better of the two. Also, remember the difference in the two girls' fighting style. Faith was all out frontal assault, whereas Buffy knew when to break off and execute a strategic retreat. The only times that she ever deviated from that were when she was either holding a more powerful opponent off in order for a friend to escape (like Willow after her rather foolish attack on Glory), when she was too badly injured to get away (l9ke with the ubervamp in Season 7) or when she was taken totally by surprise (like the first time that she fought Caleb, again in Season 7) About the only time that we saw her deviate from that plan was in Season 2 when, almost certainly due to a combination of inexperience and over confidence, she first fought (and was almost killed by) Spike in "School Hard."

I'm not saying that Buffy could have beaten the Beast unassisted, but, unlike Faith, she would have broken off her attack at the first opportunity, gotten away, brought in allies (remember how she finally defeated Adam in Season 6), and came back with a better plan of attack for Round 2, or even Round 3 if that had proven necessary.

(Just on a side note, I would really have loved to see Buffy, Spike, Faith and Angel in a coordinated attack against the Beast, Caleb, or Glory in a sort of "Avengers Assemble" type scene. That could have been truly epic. Of course, to really have worked properly, it would have required a movie screen to get the full effect, and a larger budget for that single scene than Joss had for an entire season)
 
Slightly off topic question but: Was Willow's restoration of Angel's soul as cool as when it happened in S2 of Buffy or was it like..easy? I just figured with Willow's powers by then, she just waved her hand or something.
 
She had to fight off evil cordie this time around and the soul was stuck in a jar that made it harder but its Willow so no big deal
