What do people think of these movies?

I personally think they are two of the greatest movies ever. Both 1 and 2 are hilarious, but they also work so well on a metaphorical level. They both also have amazing soundtracks, that are used so well in the movies, I love that scene in the second one where the Fairy Godmother is singing holding out for a hero and Shrek is rushing to the castle, it's brilliant!

And the first one just has so many great moments, with some classic lines that will go down in history, like the gum drop buttons line from the gingerbread man!

I also love that they rip off mainstream movies without making it the main focus of the movie, in the same way Scary Movie does!!

Edit - And OMG how could I forget the womens underwear joke!! - Uber brilliant "It's a thong!!" lol

Sorry I'm sitting here at 2:10 in the mornig watching Shrek, and laughing! 🙂
 
OMG! theres a Puss in Boots spin-off!!! lol. I knew there was a Shrek 3, and I can't wait for it, but I had no idea about a spin off!
 
I love these movies too! They are brilliant! My favourite bit in Shrek 2 is when the giant gingerbread man sinks into the moat. I also love it when Donkey turns into the horse and he says "I'm a stallion baby!"


Also here's the thong bit that you mentioned BEG.

Shrek: Quick tell a lie!
Pinocchio: What should I say?
Donkey: Say something crazy... like you're wearing ladies underwear.
Pinocchio: Um, ok. I'm wearing ladies underwear.
Pinocchio: [silence]
Shrek: Are you?
Pinocchio: I most certainly am not.
Pinocchio: [nose extends] .
Donkey: It looks like you most certainly am are.
Pinocchio: I am not.

Shrek 3... really I didn't know! I'm so excited.
 
Shrek rules! Thought the second was just as good as the first. Strong contenders with Toy story and ice age for the best computer animated movie ever, in my opinion.

I remember hearing Justin Timberlake was doing the voice to one of the main characters in Shrek 3........I'm sure everything will be fine.......
 
I didn't know about shrek 3 but i'll go to watch it cuz shrek 1 and 2 were hilarious!I loved the music and the characters and the jokes are brillant!
I think it's not just an animated movie for children, adults can watch it and laugh as much as the kids, well not at the same jokes, but it's great!
 
I watched Shrek 2 last night. I knew it was funny but I forgot how funny 🙂

Been listening to the soundtrack all day 😀

i think justin timberlake was gonna play king arthur or something. i like that these movies make me laugh. when i just want to relax and bust a gut with a movie, these are two of the ones id choose. usaully, the sequels arent as good as the original, but this one was and i cant wait for the third! i watched shrek two the other day, but i forgot to wait for the part at the end with the dragon, and i regret that i didnt get a chance to watch that part.
