Do you have a boyfriend/girlfriend or a husband/wife? Tell me about them! Post a photo if you like. : D

For the single people - like anyone?

Edit - Alright. 😛 My boyfriend's name is Matt. We met in high school, and at first I didn't like him at all! In fact, I hated him -- but it turns out all of the snarky things he said were just for the funnies. Our one year is next month, five days after Christmas!

He got me into Buffy and Angel, btw.

yeah Minwaras right, you first!
Dude, this is so weird because I was just thinking about posting a similar topic. 🙂

Firstly, kudos to your BF for getting you into the Whedonverse. It was always the other way around with me. Although, I do know quite a few guys at school who are way into Whedon's shows.

As for your question; I am single, and it sucks. It's soooo hard to meet people here in Seattle. Everyone takes themselves too seriously and they're really stand-offish. I have this crush on this guy who works at the bank near my work...but I think he's gay 🙁

🙁 When I was 14, I had a major crush on this guy in my Lit class. Turns out he was gay, but wasn't officially "out" yet, so I didn't know until after I stopped pursuing him!

So I feel you.

I am newly single myself. My girlfriend and I (of two yeas) broke up a couple of months ago. It was bittersweet, in that it was time for us to move on, but I still kinda miss her.

There is this new girl at work is kinda cute, and I like her, but it is very hard to approach someone that way at work.

Yes, I am also a girl. Forgot to mention that, though I think it says that in my profile.

Are you also a girl? I know how that is -- I think it's pretty hard to approach other girls. :(

I know, right? Hitting on people at work is never a good idea lol
As a general rule, I'm always single.
As another general rule, there's probably also always some guy there might be something going on with. Right now that's the Australian exchange student from my faculty. I'm not really into him at all, but he thinks I'm cute and he wanted to start a fling or something. I went along wiith it cos I do like to have my fun, plus he's leaving in mid-December anyway.

I would like to have a real relationship, but guys around me either don't seem to want that, or it's guys I couldn't imagine dating. That's why I always give into flings and stuff like that - at least it's something. The last guy I really wanted a relationship with sorta didn't really work out because of another girl. And there is a guy now I would also kinda like to date, but since a friend of mine has been trying to get him into a relationship with her first, he's sort of off-limits as long as I'm friends with that girl.

Yeah, my love life sucks. But honestly, it has sucked like that ever since I started dating, so I guess I kinda got used to it by now.

Dude, you're lucky. I can't even find a decent guy to have a fling with!
I understand what you mean about flings and stuff, Kristine. That's pretty much where I was before and since my last girlfriend.

For me, it's just the nature of how difficult it is to meet a girl who shares similar tastes as I do. It's a difficult topic to broach in a normal conversation, let alone an intimate one, and can (and has) lead to embarrassing situations. (Oh the stories I could tell of accidentally hitting on a woman not interested in women).

Ha! Tell us one.
I have a boyfriend and I'm so f***ing in love with him it actually hurts sometimes. That is because he's away. For one year, he's studying in Southern Italy while I'm still home, in Northern France... Waiting is all I do these days...

Aw, I'm sorry! That must be difficult. Does he call you? I hope so. :)
Some of you know if already but since not all of you do I'll tell it again. I have a long distance relationship which of course isn't easy. But when you really love someone at least you try. We'll meet in two weeks again and when she leaves it's just two days from the one year anniversity from the first time we met in real life. And I met her here on BB so that's kind of a fun sidenote.

Um, I have a boyfriend. He is little older then me, he's 19. He is so close to me, I mean he lives 2 streets from me. He goes to college. Um, we are together for 10 months now. I love him so much. When I first met him, my friends warned me, don't fall for him, for him girl's are just one night stand. But as usual I didn't listen to them, I am a little stuborn, but this time that was good for me 🙂 He is the sweetest person, protective, a little jelaous but the is ok, I like that 🙂

I'm happy for you :)
Love hurts, thats my take, I am with my girlfriend almost 4 yrs she's older than me which is good I could never take been with someone my own age, i dont know why actually. Anyway we started out long distance im irish she's argentinian so I made the move there long term but its not working out that well money wise so there's a lot of going back and forth which is hell on the relationship. Now we both wanna move to Australia in the future, hope it happens actually no more flying back and forth. Anyway love does hurt but its worth it despite everything 🙂

Generally, relationships and me never work out. Maybe it's because of my age, I just haven't found anyone yet; but no-one I've been with has lasted. I yo-yoed my last boyfriend a little too much (I broke up with him three times, and he's still into me. Yikes.)

I just start liking my male best friend, and it's really awkward. I can't tell if he likes me or not, and I'm really scared to tell him how I feel, I really don't want to ruin our friendship, it'd just be too complicated. I see two of our other friends together (Okay, it's actually a little scary the fact they make out all the time when not only are they only 14, but they've been together for about a week, if that, anyway...) and it makes me really want to tell him, but I probably won't. I have Emma Caulfield to keep me happy, she's my less realistic crush, if you didn't already know that. 😉

Don't worry too much. I hadn't even started dating when I was your age (and now I feel OLD). ;)
I don't particularly like relationships. Granted, I am still pretty new to the gay scene. There's someone I consider my insignificant opposite, because we used to have affection for each other, but then a bunch of crap happened, now we don't talk. Well, I talk crap about him. Right in front of him. He's afraid of a confrontation with me, so he stays quiet. It's really awkward, considering we're in the same theater class, the most talkative class.
I'm gonna be honest, I do still have feelings for this guy, but there's nothing I can do about it.

not talking crap about him in front of others would be a start :P

Crap. You're stuck in the same class? I know how that goes.
Relationships and me don't really work out most of the time. I've always been scared of commitment. Always. Which is why I don't think I could take being with someone who will want to be with me a lot of the time. I need my personal space. I've had boyfriends in the past where they just became too clingy. I like being independent which is why I can't see myself ever being in a long term relationship... which is kind of sad but oh well. Things might change 🙂

Oh christ, don't even get me started, I might cry and blow my nose on my speakers or something. I maintained ever since I was only a little man that I wasn't going to even contemplate a relationship until I was old and in no position to go around wantonly having sex like a party animal. Then I fell hard for this one chick that happened to have a boyfriend. I'm a pretty confident guy so I figured I would proclaim my love and she would be overcome with joy and we would be frolicking through strawberry fields holding hands and all of that romcom shit, so I made my move despite the fact that she was taken:

NEVER DO THIS

Spikesangel11 agrees: not talking crap about him in front of others would be a start 😛
oops I guess I left out a piece of information. He's already with someone, for about half a year now, who won't let him talk to me because he knows he liked me. We were friends until the boyfriend found out about this him liking me business.

ohh. aw, good luck with the whole situation then (:
I've been with my daughter's father for just over 4 1/2 years. He is called George and will be 30 next year. At the moment he manages a Fish and Chip shop but will be looking for a new job in the new year. He is studying Earth Science at the Open Univercity. He hates BTVS and Angel but knows everything about them lol, possibly my fault haha. He is a gamer and loves RPG style games. I think thats about all I can say about him other than he is a wonderful dad and partner 🙂 So there you go you know a little bit more about my bloke!

I'm not into exclusive commitments, for both psychological and philosophical reasons - still, the sitch is such that I really can't honestly call myself single for a bit over a year now, and I'm cool with that. 😉

Even though I'm happy we're not tagging "coupley" labels to it like "girlfriend" or such - being the geeks we are, we just call each other "shipmates" 😉 - Rach (Fake Shemp here on the boards - just like TKs, Vahla Ha'nesh has indeed be the Dorm of Love for me ^^ ) certainly has become so close to me that I don't even want to consider being without her, and I don't see any competition up against her in that. So it's about as committed as it gets... 😀 I guess living in different countries probably makes it easier for me to have one person be emotionally close to me. Thank God for having us live in the age of the internet though! 😉

Been there, done that. My last boyfriend and I went out on and off for years. We finally had the guts to break up this last June, and now in hindsight, I see it was the right decision. We just weren't right for each other. I learned that just because you love someone doesn't mean you can make it work.

I just start liking my male best friend, and it's really awkward. I can't tell if he likes me or not, and I'm really scared to tell him how I feel, I really don't want to ruin our friendship, it'd just be too complicated. I know how this is! What's worse is when your best male friend is into you, and you're not into him. My best friend Johnny and I are sort of going through this. He obviously has feelings for me, but our friendship is really close, and he doesn't want to jeopardize that. Plus he's seeing someone else seriously. It's a very difficult situation.

And you're only 14! You have lots of time to date. Don't just settle! You'll find the right person for you. 😉

You're too young to be in a long-term relationship, anyway. Enjoy your freedom. You have your whole life to be tied down in a boring, monogamous relationship. 😉

thanks, yeah. I know :) i just with the whole "scared of commitment" thing didn't touch other aspects of my life, like homework and stuff lol :P :P
