Is it sad that during the week (and sometimes on the weekend) all I am looking forward to is watching my Buffy DVDs when I get home? At first I'd get all geeked, but now that I'm on Season 5 and with only 2 seasons looming at the end and with Joyce and Buffy's deaths coming up, it's also getting kind of depressing. Anybody else feel this way? It's a weird dichotomy.

Not sure what I'm gonna do after I finish all the BTVS and Angel Seasons again...Maybe I'll move on to Heroes 1st Season, then re-watch My Name is Earl Again. Then maybe after re-watching Entourage and the Justice League DVD sets it'll be long enough were I can re-start the Buffy series again!

I just finished watching all of Buffy and Angel. I would go over to my friend's house to watch them with her and I'm going to miss it. I just usually leave watching any episodes for about 6 months before starting all over again.

Oh and when you are finished watching Buffy DVD's why not move on to Firefly? That's what I'm on right now.

Sounds about right expect that I only get depressed during the end of season 5 because it´s then I realize I´m getting near the end of the show. Not that the deaths aren´t depressing, of course they are.

Why not take the time to discover a new series? There are many great ones out there. I rewatch my favourites all the time but I try to find time to discover new ones as well. This summer it´s time for BSG. And during the strike I watched Supernatural and Dexter.

Firefly takes two days to get through. Ok, maybe not (depending on how much timne you have), but it goes fast. So it´s a great place to start but the man needs more!
 
Sigh, indeed... this is a tough pickle. I would recommend Lost or How I Met Your Mother for new shows... after Firefly. And I find Buffy/Angel marathons help after watching the series helps. 🙂
 
I could never get into Lost, never even gave it a chance. I've been curious about the "How I met Your Mother" show. I never even heard of it until my friend told me that Neil Patrick Harris was in it. I might have to do the Firefly marathon after the Angel one and include Serenity in there. I'm currently on the 4 disc of Season 6 (a season I started no more than 3 or 4 days ago.) This is moving by waaay too fast 🙁
 
Like most people have said, I'd definitely suggest watching Firefly, but sadly, you can finish it in a couple days. Have you already seen the first season of Heroes? If you haven't, then you should definitely look forward to watching it. It's excellent.

If you're looking for a funny show, I'd definitely recommend the US version of The Office if you haven't seen it. It's absolutely hilarious, even though it started going waaay downhill in season 3. And I really like what I've seen of How I Met Your Mother, even though I've only seen the first three episodes (that was all I could find online.) I definitely need to get the DVDs.

Oh, and don't forget about Dollhouse, which is coming in January! I can't wait...I'm in desperate need of some good, new TV.
 
I haven't brought myself to watch Bones and I don't see myself doing that for Dollhouse either. No offense to the actors, but I associate them too much with the BTVS universe and plus I never watch actual live TV anymore or when I do it's almost never planned. I did do it for Heroes though, so maybe I'll do it for Dollhouse....I'd need to get Tivo or something to do it though.

I totally forgot about Heroes, I'll re-watch that after Angel and before Firefly/Serenity...then I'll move on to re-watching "My Name Is Earl" again and by then....It'll still be too early to re-watch Buffy again 🙁
 
Bones is good, you should try it. Some of the plot lines are fantastic. I forgot to mention X Files... older, and more established, but a tasty treat, nontheless.

And-Lost is well worth it (although I have not seen all the eps of the last season... I've skipped around), it keeps you constantly thinking, and wondering what will happen next. I haven't thought this much about a series, since the Buffyverse ended.

I just finished season one last night, it's amazing!
There's just waaay too many eps of X-Files to catch up (let alone buy.) I've tried watching parts of Bones...but that CSI type stuff was never really my thing, Lost just seems...well, honestly I think I'd feel too "lost" getting into it (bad pun I know...)

What appealed to me the most about Buffy was all the super-heroey/supernatural stuff (being a comic book fan and all) and that the actual writing and acting was good as well...That's why I have a feeling that even though I like BTVS, Angel and Firefly I might not like Dollhouse.

oooo, I forgot about Veronic Mars too! (Although I re-watched that about half a year ago and everything's still a bit fresh, not too good for a series that counts on surprise endings/the detective aspect...)
 
You know I used to watch Smallville but stopped after awhile, I got back into a couple of episodes recently but I was slightly lost (but happy by the fact that there's more super heroes showing up.)

Money is also a big issue too...maybe I need to have the council pay me retroactively from the time the Buffy series was cancelled...

And the sadness is more from the fact that I know I'll be done with the Buffy series again soon...that is sad in itself, but it'll also bring back memories of when I saw the show when it was originally cancelled...there's really no replacement for BTVS, which just sucks.

Tell me about it. I´m not saying you should but you know you can get it for free, right? No I don´t think you´ve lived under a rock. It´s just that on these boards it just seems nobody does it. Which I guess is as it should since it´s illegal and all. But still a bit surprising. Or are all of you going to jail if you do it?
 
I actually surprisingly don't have too fast of an internet connection at home, I do most of my surfing at work. I try to borrow from the library for free whenever I can but they're not always available and they don't have everything (let alone every Season of everything.) I did just finally borrow the last half of Season 6 of Sopranos, to this day I haven't seen the series finale or heard exactly what happened (and I hope I don't before I finish the season.)
 
The Sopranos is a good way to go. Another great show is Entourage, which is deemed as the male version of Sex and the City (if you haven't heard of it). I highly recommend. Granted, this is not comic-booky, but it's very well written, and witty.

You may want to try The 4400. It's got a lot of mystery and supernatural stuff in it. It was great for the first two seasons, then is starts to get a little too weird, in my opinion, but I think it's definitely worth watching.
 
How abut Charmed? Don't know if you would like that though.
Well I prefer sitcoms (less scary 😛) so Buffy/Angel (and to a certain degree Charmed) are the only shows of that genre I ever watched.
And other than that, how about just no new show for a while. I did that for a while (and kinda on it right now again, but for different reasons)) and you'd be surprised how much time you suddenly have.

yeah, I bought the first season of Charmed because I like the supernaturally genre, but I didn't really like it.
While I admit there is NO substitute for Buffy or Angel, there are other DVDs out there - other shows, that are pretty good.

I have so many DVD TV shows, sometimes it is hard to choose what to watch! - I have Firefly in addition to my Buffy/Angel. Also have Smallville, which I love, but I would give my soul to be able to turn back time & have Joss Whedon be the main writer of Smallville... ahhhh... just a dream I have... anyway...

I love Boston Legal (Denny Crane just slays me!!!! :lmao: ) and I enjoy many of the FX shows, HBO, & Showtime shows as well... Sopranos, Rome, Weeds, The Shield, Rescue Me, Nip/Tuck, Sex in the City. I've recently invested in Frasier, and I'm trying to be strong & NOT buy certain other series... but it's hard sometimes!

I usually watch certain fav-eppys of Buffy & Angel. I love the Faith eppys, & sometimes I do a Spike-a-thon. But just recently watched Buffy, 1-7 all the way thru, & now on Angel in S-1. I already have my next viewing planned: Buffy 1-3, then Buffy 4-1, Angel 1-1, & so forth, so I can keep my Buffy & Angel in *real time.*

Yeah, I am a little geeky. Thank goddess I have all you other geeks to keep me company! 😉

Actually, I think he was more interested in Wonder Woman.

I know Marvel let him help on a Superman/Batman story which was beyond his contract with Marvel.
But then, that was a special issue with many many contributions from people in memory of 17 year old Sam Leob who died of cancer after finishing this first story he wrote professionally. The fact that Sam's father wrote a short story for it days after his son's death where Superman meets a kid dying of cancer named Sam must have been hard.
 
So I just finished Season Seven of BTVS and started the first episode of Angel Season 1 last night, capping the first time I re-watched the entire Buffy Series from beginning to end in order....

I just wanted to thank everyone that made this moment possible, shout out to the first BTVS online street team that helped me earn my Season 1 DVD box set of Buffy before I even had a DVD player...My trusty TV/VCR combo unit for taping all those gritty, gritty episodes for me (didn't really make this possible, but I appreciate it)...My ex for buying one of the Buffy Season sets for me...The downstairs DVD player for playing all the episodes my computer wouldn't...And work, for either not minding or not noticing all the multiple days I was late to work from staying up watching Buffy.

Now, on to Angel...
