Similarities between scenes in the Whedonverse

Oh wow. I mean, I think that definitely was intentional, but maybe the reference was so obscure and minute that the viewer was not supposed to remember it.

But I like the irony in it, honestly.
 
This is more of a continuity/similarity:

I'm rewatching Dollhouse 'Omega' and when
Paul is shown the chair he says something like 'this is where you steal their souls' and Topher replies saying 'yes, then we keep them in little glass jars'
which made me instantly picture Cordelia holding the jar with Angel's in in season four! 😀

Buffy the Vampire Slayer had these characters named Buffy, Angel, Spike, Drusilla, Wesley, Darla, Oz, the Master, Faith, Cordelia, Willow and Andrew. Characters of similar names and appearances were seen on Angel the Series!

Oh and don't forget, the weird velvet jacket creep from WttH/Harvest was called Angel, too - just like Old Broody in the rest of the series. They even were both played by David Boreanaz!
 
Dunno if this has been said already since it's pretty obvious, but when Riley comes back in Season 6, he tells Buffy, "The wheel never stops turning." In the first episode of Firefly (I think), Mal tells one of his clients the exact same thing. The client, Badger, replies, "That only matters to the people on the rim."

They have different meanings in both, but I always found it interesting that Whedon included the line in Firefly. It's way too exact to be an accident.

This is the only one that REALLY stands out for me. When I saw this topic, these were the very episodes I was thinking of. The scene where they wake up after the spell in "Spin The Bottle" and no one knows who/where they are is soooo similar to the scene in "Tabula Rasa" when they all wake up in the Magic Box and are trying to figure out who they all are.
 
First episode, "Buffy," Season 3: Buffy, alone in LA. Scene in her grubby apartment, all alone and dejected, staring at a can of something (soup, probably), possibly taken from where she worked. Obviously lonely and hungry for more than food. Probably thinking about Angel or her friends in Sunnydale..

First episode "Angel," Season 1: Almost the identical scene with Cordy, but can is changed to little star shaped sandwich, obviously stolen from the party she has just attended. Sae dejection, same lowliness, same hunger. Possibly thinking about Angel or her friends in Sunnydale.
