I've mentioned before that I have about a thousand clips on my computer from BtVS, so I can watch a particular scene any time I want.
I got to thinking last night about whether there is one single scene that I enjoy watching over and over again more than any other. I know many people won't be able to choose one single favorite scene to watch, but I do actually have one.
It's Buffy's speech to the Council in Checkpoint. I never get tired of watching that scene. I just love every second of it. ("I'm fairly certain I said no interruptions." "This is how it's going to work." "cough*retroactive*cough")
I absolutely loathe that scene. For why:
"Power. I have it. They don't. This bothers them."
So perhaps what you all would call a Buffy-Lindsey ship is in order:
"Evil's not the point. Power is."
By the way, for a crossover moment, I noticed that some don't really like Eve all that much (from some comments on that anti-ship thread). Two of my favorite scenes in Angel involve her. Sticking with Lindsey:
Damn, girl, you gave up immortality for me. It's like something out of a fairy tale.
And since some would indeed call it fairy tale:
Looks like we're getting kicked out of the garden, Eve.
Lastly, and by the way, favorite scene is the tail end of Entropy. Not Spike's biggest fan but loved his...if it's good enough for Buffy... And by tail end I actually mean that last scene, and that earlier scene with Spike and Anya, when those two took solace (as it were). You could simply take the "if it's good enough for Buffy" as a general statement without regard to much in the way of circumstance or context, and still works, but better yet in circumstance and context (infinitely so). In Angel would be the one scene with Wes and Big Blue and then the follow up scene with, Would you like me to lie to you now?, and roll the scene on until Ms. Frail and Fragile reverts to Big Blue and takes out you know who. The second place, or silver, goes to Anya in The Body and the last scene in FiveByFive there in the alley. There's a photo-finish dead heat for the bronze, with that touching scene wherein our Man Who Watches The Watchers remarking on a father's love and Buffy then allowing Giles to clean and dress her wounds, and then that part of Selfless once D'Hoffryn shows up at the frat house and then continue on until roll credits. In Angel, well, the intro of Faith to the gang sans Angel. Beginning with, Everyone, this is Faith, the vampire slayer... Some sweet lines:
Hello, Faith, I'm"”
Fred. Yeah, Wes kinda gave me the skinny on you
We're gonna keep this hunting party tight. Gunn, right?
Yeah.
Love the name. I hear you're a good fighter.
I hold my own.
That's a shame. You're with me, Wes, and the kid.
