Okay, this isn't just for the Spuffies and the Bangels, it's for any and everyone who cares to join in. You don't have to even mention what particular ship you're supporting.

If your favorite ship was permanently destroyed, never to be considered again, would you:

A) Continue to be a fan of the series anyhow, despite your disapointment.

B) Stop watching/reading the series and confine yourself to fan fiction supporting your ship.

C) Leave the Buffyverse in all forms and go find another series to support.

D) Don't know at this time. The concept of no (ship) is just too terrible to contemplate.

As I said, any and all shippers may contribute their thoughts, feelings, and opinions here with or without mentioning whar couple you support.

As for myself, I think that I would continue to be a fan, regardless of what media that the series might be presented in, as long as the story quality remained high.

I ship very hard. But I ship Tillow the same amount if not harder and more than Spuffy and as much as I'd like to believe there's hope for them, Tara died and there's no more magic. Spuffy isn't the only reason I love Buffy. it's part of why I love it, but it's not the only reason.

There's still hope for Tillow. Tara could have come back BEFORE magic was nullified, but, seeing Willow with Kennedy, never made her presence known. Mayce in Season 10....
For me, my ships are already closed per se. I don't think of the comics as canon, so in my mind, spuffy and tillow (of course) are already sunk. But of course I still ship them, and always will. I don't read fanfic either, LOL. I just like to keep it real. 😀

That feels like a stretch to me. I'd love it if Tillow wasn't done. But I'm not holding out hope.

To me, that's like saying, "Riley's marriage could have broken up, he could have come back, seen Buffy with Spike, and went away again", or "Cordelia could have come back, seen Xander with Anya and left again, and never mentioned it to Angel".

Unless it's canon, I think it's better to just say it never happened.

Apparently you've never heard my theory about sam and what, not who, she really is.

Although I'd probably still pretend the Bangel ship was afloat somewhere peaceful. Plus I'd still have Briley; not bad for a #2 ship 😀

Oh, I don't know, I lived through the horror that was season 8 Btwangel and I'm still a Bangel. I guess I'm just an optimist at heart. 😀

I can do that I actually do it with a lot of shows. Plus with Joss he kind of destroys things so I am used to it by this point. Ships aren't always huge to me I love them and if they are really good I seriously love them but if the series is still good I am good.

My OTP was permanently destroyed, and desecrated afterwards. Cordy/Angel is probably my favourite ship in any series, and it was destroyed before it even got a chance to get going. Then Cordelia slept with Angel's son, got pregnant, had her character assassinated and was killed off. It's the worst treatment of any ship I've ever seen, but I got over it. It only affected my enjoyment of the show in a very minor way, and I never considered stopping watching the show.

If I cared less about the show as a whole, I would probably consider abandoning the show if my OTP got ruined. For example, I watch every episode of How I Met Your Mother, but really I don't think it's that great a show. I'm a Barney/Robin fan before a HIMYM fan. Unlike my favourite shows, where shipping is just a fun bonus and doesn't impact my enjoyment greatly, my enjoyment of HIMYM is directly correlated to how well B/R are going. If they were screwed over like Angel/Cordelia was, I would probably stop watching.

The shows, which are over, did not destroy my ship, and for the past couple of years I've been contentedly living in my own post-"Chosen" and "Not Fade Away" fantasy world in which there is Buffy/Angel (and Willow/Oz) happiness. I've never been able to see the comics as canon, so whatever happens there will only affect my opinion of (and loyalty to) the comics, not the whole series.
