Sinking Your Ship

[Willow My Love]

One of my favorite ones is destroyed, never to return, but I chug along in my fandom anyway. The ship happened, and that makes me happy. Doesn't matter if it's no longer there, it was there.

I'm not big on ships, so the possibility of abandoning the show if my ship were destroyed never occurred to me. And my ship was destroyed, when Jenny was killed. That added dramatic interest to the show, though it's kind of a shame that she was never mentioned again in later seasons (that I can recall).

Where are the best places to find BtVS fan fiction? Esepcially Giles -Jenny fics.

ETA: "later seasons" meaning after season 3, since she did appear in "Amends" as an illusion for Angel.

I guess I'm a pessimist 'cause I don't really expect them to last forever anyway. The love between the characters will, of course (last forever), but not the 'ship.

My OTP ship sunk many a year ago with Jenny's death. And, being honest, I don't see her coming back. And yet, I kept watching, and, ironically, my favourite episode of BtVS remains Passion to this day 😛

My other favourite ship? Spike/Dru. Again, sunk (not counting possible comic content, just the show).

Pretty much every ship I loved was sunk, so yeah, I could, and have, carried on watching.

A. Because honestly, I don't watch shows or movies for the ships. Sure I'll like some couples more than others(in this case Cangel), but *it* existing or not won't stop me from enjoying the story or the characters in general. It's just a small part in the tasty chocolate cake, if you get my drift. 😉

I don't know, I think Willow is going to resurrect Tara, or at least contact her, in season 9. I wouldn't count it out.

A. I'd still be a fan with FanFiction as my Giles/Jenny, Spuffy, Cangel, Tillow, Fresley and Xanya source.

All of my ships sunk, and it's really disappointing. I was cheering for Fresley ever since Fred came on screen and Wesley looked at her. They finally get together, I'm happy, next thing I know, Fred is dead. Same thing happened with Tillow! Joss lets my ship sail for a while, then sinks it quickly later. I was sad Xanya ended too. Xanya was probably one of my immediate favorites.

C) Leave the Buffyverse in all forms and go find another series to support.

Wait? What? Just kidding!! 😉 I highly doubt any of us BB'rs could actually do this no matter how much we wanted to. The only series I actually DID protest by not watching was The OC when they killed Marisa.

But Buffy and Angel are too dear to my heart and too well written to be abandoned over a ship....the fact that we even get upset is probably the reason he does it!

I'd keep my ship, just keep rewriting my fanfic so it works. Most of my other ships in other fandoms aren't even together. At least Spike and Buffy are canon.

A) Continue to be a fan of the series anyhow, despite your disapointment.

Though, as I've said, I don't really have a favorite pair on the show. I feel like each has a place and part of the plot, though I was disappointed when each ended even if it was for the better!

A. I've liked some ships, been indifferent to most, disliked a couple, but my enjoyment of the story has never depended on one.

A. Though I ship Bangel with all I have to ship with, if they were ever truly eradicated I would still love the show. I lived through seasons 4 and 6 as testimony to that. Lol. If I can handle that I'm in it for the long haul.
