Skip/Jasmine's Plan

Okay, in JUST staying in S1-S5 of Angel....
I was watching the finale of S3 this morning and something started to irk me (and not that I can't find the cat's flea stuff).
When Skip comes back in S4 and explains how their entire lives are building up to Jasmine and everything is magically controlled by a Power That Be/Was Puppet Master does he MENTION this finale?

Personally, I always hated his explanation. It takes all the "free will" out of it and even the hard work that they did to save people or make things work out.

But, today it suddenly hit me, that THIS part, I would believe.
Here is Angel, meeting Cordy out in a lonely, dusty canon type ocean lagoon totally isolated. She's the only one who knows where the heck he is. Connor's trying to "kill him". Cordy's the only one that could see/save him from this.
Then WHAMMO, she's beamed up like Scotty, no one else knows what's going on and Jasmine's biggest threat is sunk to the bottom of the ocean. Leaving it WIDE open for her to go, come back, Connor's free and clear, no super powers to help if the sun gets blocked out, no needing to bother with bringing back pesky Angelus....just a strange and troubling hook-up with no creepy peeping toms in a rain of fire, mystical pregnancy and epic world peace...and maybe a new title for the show would be in order too.

I suppose this would only be important if S4 was supposed to make sense. But it sure would have sat with me better.
They could have even thrown in that the "puppet master" was responsible for how the heck Connor busted out of Quor-toth, that no one could make a portal to or from.

Just some morning, VERY sleepy ramblings. But, suddenly today, this part made sense, but I can't remember how much Skip threw into his explanation...it seemed like it was everything EXCEPT all of this.

It does seem that Joss enjoys dropping little hints far in advance of major story lines. Faith predicting the coming of Dawn, Angel visiting hell and discovering that it's really LA (almost 4 years before it actually happened), the first appearance of the First Evil, the inclusion of Dracula into the Buffy universe in Season 4, and the Skip/Jasmine arc that you mentioned are the ones that come most readily to mind. I wonder, though, if they were all prophesies, or if at least some of them are just the writer going back into the archives hunting for ideas that he can incorporate into the ongoing story that is Buffy the Vampire Slayer And Her Merry Band. I personally have always hoped that there would someday be a tie in story linking Glory and Illyria, like maybe Illyria was the one who originally kicked Glory out of heir common hell dimension, and we might still see something done with that, as well as some sort of development of the character that we at present know only as the Immortal.

That's what I love about the Buffyverse. You never know just when you're gonna have one of those forehead slapping epiphonies when it all seems to come together.
