OK,so after New Year's Eve I along with 3 other people who won't do anything as always have to prepare an English lesson concerning American and British slang.Could someone help me and post slang words with normal English ones?? I really don't care is it going to be a slang word for person or anything...

Someone??? Anyone?? People just 1 or 2 words from some of you and it'll do...
 
Well, the line between actual American slang and "LazyDolphin slang" (i.e. words or phrases that I make up because my brain is mostly broken) is a little blurry for me, but I'll give it a shot for you, Ana8. If I understand your request correctly, you're looking for the slang terms and then their definitions, yes?

*Note: For any slang that is two sllables in length, inserting the four-letter-word that starts with "f" and ryhmes with "ducking" as a middle syllable can add an added degree of emphasis. For example: Hard-Core becomes Hard-ducking-core! Also feel free to append "dude" to the end of any phrase to achieve a nice hard-ducking-core, dude! effect. 🙂

Here are a couple off the top of my head.
  • Hard Core identifies someone or something as impressive, tough, brave or daring, or strong.
  • Rock Used to indicate a positive emotion, as in "You rock!" or "This rocks!". Can be three-peated for emphasis: "Rock Rock Rock!"
 
Thanks LD...I can picture myself making a performace..Did I mention that after our presentation my whole group is supposed to make some kind of performance including slang???That'll be hilarius🙂
 
dude - Just what Americans call a person sometimes. If they're female, sometimes the word "dudette" is thrown in.

sucks - As in, this is a bummer. I use suck-y, but no one else ever seems to.

I can't think up a lot of this off the top of my head...
 
Instead of saying hi, people like to say, "sup", and do a little head knod. But they don't really want to know "whats up", so you don't really respond except with a "sup" back.

Pretty self explanitory...

Mong - Derogatory remark could be considered offesive since it refers to mongle children

Muppet - Derogatory again... meaning somewhat dense and puppet/muppet like...
 
Okay i don't really understand this thread.If were are showing our words and giving what they mean, here:

Obsessey-someone who is obsessed is an obsesser, someone who the obsesser is obsessed with, is the obsessey!(ex: I am angel's obsessor, and he is my obsessey)
 
I just need some slang words and as ling as my teacher doesn't know what I'm talkng bout they're all ok...
 
I don't know what kind of slang your crazy Brits use 😉 but I enjoy saying
-that bites- meaning something sucks, which as explained above refers to something being not so cool. Like homework!

My friends and I also use the term "ho-bag" to refer to women such as Britney Spears.

I can't really think of anything else at the moment! This sounds like a fun project.

Here's a question for you: what qualifies as British slang? I'm curious.
 
Hmmm let me think here in England they mainly use the same stuff as Americans ( i think) like

too true - meaning yes
nuff said - youve said enough!!
fairymuff - fair enough.
init - isnt it

Now, it strikes me that people could be really mean here (we wouldn't do that would we guys?) and post really rude slang claiming that it was innocent - kinda like the old Monty Python sketch about the Hungarian/English phrase-book (MWAHAHAHAHA). I wouldn't do that though.

For Brit slang you could do worse than look into Cockney rhyming slang ( Start here
or try this article Here ).
I believe Aussies have a similar rhyming slang. I'm sure some of our London-based friends can give a good explanation as to how it works...
 
Thanks,Queen of Buffdom as my teacher knows English on pretty the same level as me she won't notice the difference if there's any....
