Slay-A-Thon is a 12-hour marathon viewing of Joss Whedon's work.

It's a chance to meet and laugh with other Whedon fans, and have a great time while simultaneously raising money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Illinois.

You are not required to attend the entire event. Stay for the day or stop by for your favorite episodes.

There is no entrance fee... Slay-A-Thon is FREE!

Now, you may ask "How can watching Whedonverse raise money? If that were the case I'd already be rich. Hooray!"

The people who attend the marathon get family, co-workers, friends, and others to "sponsor" them - just like with a walk-a-thon. Add the auction proceeds to the sponsor dollars and we make substantial donations to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

That would be amazing! I sort of wonder how it was organized... if it would be possible to do something similar in other cities. Because I love Whedon and I love anything ending -athon and I love the Make a Wish foundation.
 
I really wish I could go... Why does it have to be so far away? Who ever thought of that is amazing, watch Joss' creations and raise money to help people? Sounds perfect.
 
OMG I'd love to raise money just by watching Buffy and Angel! We all do enough of that for free already. This is such a good idea. I hope it's a success so other cities might copy it!
 
I would love to go to this. 🙂 I live about 6 hours from Chicago, but finding a sitter would be tricky for me.
