I know of a guy who has made atleast one schyte. I'm not sure if he makes or sells anymore (I can't say where you can find him because he's from another Buffy forum).
Mini's and replicas? Do you mean unique handmade replicas or official ones?
In collectors' terms, there are "OFFICIAL replicas," which are authorized and licensed by the studios, then there are "replicas," which are usually identical to the official replicas, but aren't licensed, and therefore, though they may look the same and be of the same quality as the official replicas, can't be advertised under the same name. That usually means that, instead of calling the piece the "Slayer's Scythe," or "Buffy's Scythe." it may be called something like the "vampire hunter's axe." Then, there is what's called a "knockoff." which means that somebody in Taiwan, China. or Pakistan turned out a bunch of junk that venders sell on street corners and at flea markets, often claiming that it is:
1)the original official piece that they got at a real bargain, so they're passing the savings on to you,
2)the original piece that they're selling at a discount because they need the money,
or my personal favorites,
3)a product overrun, one of a bunch of extras that were made by the contractor, but the official dealer didn't buy them all, or
4)they're "factory seconds," slightly blemished, so they can be sold at a discount because they aren't part of the actual order.
Finally, as was pointed out, there are "copies" made by individuals, either for their own personal use, or for a few friends.
The only thing about the Slayer's Scythe that is copywritten,(?) therefore protected by law against unauthorized sale is the name. The scythe/axe/halberd/pole axe itself is merely a reproduction or a variation of a medieval weapon.
(All of which is probably far more information that anyone except an avid collector [in my case, of Bowie knives] would have the least interest in.)
