Slayer Scythe or Faith's Knife

I've seen a display for the knife being sold with several auctions online, so look out for that too in case you're checking ebay. Might be worth trying to get them both at the same time.

Also, it would appear that there MAY be a re-issue of the full sized scythe in the works. At least this site...

...s taking orders and expects delivery by Sept. 22 of this year.

Yes, there is a second run of these out now. It was delayed, but some buyers have already got it. Maybe not from that site, but others.

I bought the scythe on it's original sale run and I love it. I would recommend it to all of my fellow Buffy fans/collectors. The price is worth it, I promise.

Wow I am so jealous looking at those Scythes and Faith's knives. It would really be the coolest thing ever to own one of them🙁

I was going to post a link here to my page about "FOUND" items from Buffy which you may find useful...but I can't because I'm under 15 posts!

What I don't have listed there are some things about the scythe and the Factory X "version" of it that you should probably hear...but your not going to like.

Everyone should know that Factory X has a standing formula that they follow for weapons that they reproduce---
They are all at least 10% smaller than the original.
I'm not certain as to the exact reason they do this, perhaps it's to keep the originator of that weapon happy in that they aren't selling an exact 1 to 1 copy.
I've spoken with quite a few people who own "weapon" re-makes from Factory X and owned a few pieces myself=
The Jack Sparrow Sword
The Bram Stoker Dracula Sword
The Headless Horseman Sword
and yes...The Slayer Scythe
ALL of these are undersized from the original pieces.

I have seen a really excellent re-make of the Slayer Scythe by a fan occasionally pop-up on E-Bay. It can be identified most readily by the prongs at the base of the wooden stake end which actually grip the end of the stake and make for a much more stable support for it than the original design.
Anyway...I hope some of these observations are helpful to you.
Good luck!

Before anyone gets their hopes too high about the Factory X Scythe:

If that's the one you're feferring to, it's already too late.

As for Factory X in general, I bought a replica of the "Iron Mistress" Bowie Knife from them several years ago, and for the quality of the product received, the price was about 400% of what it should have been, especially considering the fact that the product was not an authorized replica.

Well, I would never encourage anyone to purchase the Factory X Scythe because it's just so DAMN small but...
They still pop up on E-Bay all the time.

Here's that link I promised:

I still need to add a few things to it such as all the info I have on the Factory X Scythe and their Bram Stoker's Dracula Sword(which also happens to be Angel's favorite weapon)
If you look here and see anything missing that you think should be there, please let me know!
Thanks.

Thanks for the info. I think I've almost bought several fake jackal knifes. Now I know how to be more sure I get a real one.
I just noticed that the new or second edition Slayer's Scythe is, indeed, now available from several sites. This seems to be the lowest price:

if anyone might be interested.

I've already made my comment on Factory X.

This one is apparently made of painted zinc, so it's about as close to being a "non-weapon" as anything with pointy ends can be. (I thought that I read somewhere that the "real" scythe was made out of plastic, if anyone might happen to be interested.

Some of the screen-used Slayer Scythes can be seen at www.yourprops.com as well and yes, some of them are plastic and rubber.
There were some made however in high impact aluminum.
I know that because I know the original maker of them for Buffy.

I'd love to see some pics of people with the Factory X Scythe.
You shouldn't show your face in the pics as per BB rules but I need to see some size reference photo's as NONE of the photo's available on line tend to show a person HOLDING the thing...a bit odd that.
