Where did Buffy get her weapons? A wooden stake can be whittled out of any old chunk of wood, but a real, functional, battle ready sword, not the junk that you buy at flea markets and from tent venders, are both harder to find and MUCH more expensive when you do find them. Also, even the highest quality swords, axes, and such, are susceptible to wear and tear, and I think that it would be quite likely that demon slaying wears them out pretty quickly. So, aside from her rocket launcher and Mr Pointy, where did Buffy go to obtain the tools of her trade, especially when Giles and his Watcher Council connections and very deep pockets were no longer available to her?

Giles got them along with the Slayer handbook??
Honestly no idea, good question though. I would say that at least a few of them she might have picked up after battles she won.

Yeah I had been thinking it was all thanks to Giles and his Council connections; however, I do recall her having a bag of weapons already stashed at her place in the Season 1 pilot (if I'm remembering that right) before she'd really begun all her training with Giles so it couldn't of just been him.

What about the guy that approached her outside of her school? Was it Merrick? It happened in one of Angel's flashback episodes. Whistler dragged Angel along to a school and we saw Buffy before she moved to Sunnydale and discovered she was a slayer. She's greeted by that old guy with the mustache who's been in hundreds of movies, but I don't know his name?

True, she probably got a few from her first watcher, completely forgot about that!

I looked it up on IMDB. His name is Richard Riehle and he's credited as playing Merrick in Becoming Pt.1

So yeah I can only assume its because of Merrick with regards to Teenage Buffy.
