slayers' ages

I was thinking. I was reading various Slayer Tales and watching the eps and a thought crossed my mind. the overall consensus is that a Slayer, as a rule, apparently is not expected to live past her 18th birthday. (if she gets that far) yet, some tales seem to have Slayers in their 20s. Buffy and Faith obviously are 22-23 at the end of the series. Nikki Wood, I'm guessing, was 20-something when Spike killed her. in fact, in the first volume of Slayer Tales, Thessily the Greek Slayer is almost 30. so, it would seem that post-teen slayers are not as rare as might be expected. :happy53:

I see your point, however there have been slayers since almost the beginning of man, so the amount of slayers documented in Tales of the Slayers are few in comparison to the population as a whole. Maybe these slayers lives were documented because they were so different and found ways to survive their doomed fate.

Also Faith is younger than Buffy in the series I believe.

In "Helpless", the council makes it sound as if the whole power-sucking thing, which happens on the Slayer's 18th birthday, is a big tradition. If few lived that long, it wouldn't be. Or, on the other hand, maybe most of them dies from that...
