Slayers in AtF?

Ok so I was reading AtF for surpisingly the first time and something kind of occurred to me. Why were there no newly activated Slayers in the Hellish version of L.A? Don't you think at least one or two of them would have been left behind in the mess?

I realize why they wouldn't include them in the storyline because it would minimalize Angel's "Struggle" and make it about Buffy and her cause, but it just seems anti-canon in a way. Do you guys agree? Or is there a way to explain it within the 'Verse?

I could be explained by the fact that, since they were in LA, which isn't supposedly that far from Sunnydale, Buffy and Co. had already rounded up all the Slayers that were Activated there and took them to Scotland with her and the rest of the team, or sent them with to one of the other squads with Rona, Vi, Wood or Andrew - which could explain why Andrew, in Italy, had American Slayers, namely Simone, in his squad.

Another reason could be that the Potentials that were in the LA area - which could hardly be more than a few, statistically speaking - were already known by the Council and were already in training and therefore made there way to Sunnydale when the call or whatever went out. Vi and Chloe would fit that description.

Or, you know, it could be because no one really gave it much thought, lol, and yes, Buffy would maybe have sent people to try and retrieve the girls, thus reducing Angel's story to nothing more than being rescued by Buffy and her friends.

They would theoretically have been the first ones picked up by the scoobies and since they had a whole season to do it before AtF takes place its isnt unthinkable.

If you consider all Slayers activated by Willow's spell newly activated, then there were Slayers in the ATF arc. Vampire Gunn had several (4 or 5, I think) held captive. (I always assumed that they had been assigned to LA to keep an eye on Angel and Spike about the time that Andrew came to LA to pick up Dana, most likely by Giles, and quite possibly without Buffy's knowledge.)

If you mean, why weren't there any Slayers on patrol in Hell A during the ATF arc, once more, probably because Vampire Gunn captured all of them. Even if there were any others still free in the area, it's doubtful that they would have made their presence known to Angel or any of his friends, considering the "Buffy doesn't trust you" policy that was apparently in force since Season 5's "Damaged," plus the fact that Charles Gunn, formerly one of Angel's closest allies, was catching all of them to use in his private torture games.

Right, I was a little confused by this question lol. I was like "Did I just imagine Gunn having a bunch of them held captive?" 🙂
