Okay, folks, before anybody gets any ideas about the dirty old man who goes by the title of White Avenger, this is about a discussion that came up at a party last night. A lady friend of ours said that her daughter slept in her brother's old pajamas, th which another lady (who fancies herself a fashion expert) said in shock, "You must be kidding. NO woman would ever sleep in pajamas. Only men wear them."

Now, I remember that Buffy wears them, but I don't remember seeing any of the other ladies on the show in or around a bed. My question is, "What's so wrong about women wearing them, or is our friend just full of b s?"

(And really, now, this isn't about your personal favorites, just general information)

I thought it was men who don't wear PJ's? :S At least most of the men I know don't! I think all of the women i know do though.... apart from me.... I just wear an old t shirt.
 
Women wear pj's to bed. We have many different styles tho. Like, Anya in OMWF. That little red number. Alot of us have jammies like those. Yes lingerie, but still it's something. But I would say the average woman likes to be comfortable. I am still in my jammies cause I woke up not too long ago and I am wearing fleece jammies. It was a cold night.
 
Well, if women don't wear PJs, why is it so easy to go to a store and buy PJs in women's sizes? Actually, most of the men that I've known just sleep in their underwear (boxers and a T-shirt) or, if it's cold, in sweat pants or something. Most of the women that I know sleep in PJs.

Personally, I sleep in anything silky: PJs, nightgowns, and some items that might be best described as lingerie rather than as PJs. I love PJs. Seriously. I've loved them ever since I was a kid. In fact, every year for Christmas, my parents get me a new set of PJs. Your fashion expert is not the expert that she fancies herself. Right now, I am wearing silk PJs from Chinatown -- this year's set of Christmas PJs. I am a woman. So this lady's "No woman would ever wear PJs" thing is sort of shot down by my current choice in clothing. PJs rock. If this lady doesn't wear them, well, she is seriously missing out on some comfortable sleep and lounge wear.
 
I don't think I know a single woman who doesn't sleep in pyjamas- sexual encounter nights not withstanding... And even then, lingerie exists. Also, I think around 'Passion' Willow's seen wearing a sportish nighty, and I'm not sure if she changes it to sleep at buffys...

Speaking of pyjamas, buffy had some amazing ones... I loved her yummy sushi pyjamas. Asked for them since about the age of thirteen... Never did get those damn pyjamas. Check out cat's cradle on google, you can buy some there... Leave me a pair of the yummy sushi ones. I'm still hoping.
 
That's crazy! I wear pajamas all the time. The best kind are the cotton and flannel sets from Victoria Secret. They're not lingerie, they are bottoms and top. And they're fun...they have different designs. Currently I am sleeping in a set that have frosted and sprinkled donuts all over them.

So, yes women wear pajamas.
 
Eh, she's full of BS.....I have an amazing variety of PJ's, mostly warm and comfy types for cold weather. I do have some for summer, too, but I mostly sleep in a t-shirt and shorts when it's warm. Wouldn't trade my cozy winter PJ's for anything!
 
I'm not a woman, but, I have PJs, but I only wear them when I'm awake. I wear my birthday suit to bed. 😀

But I don't think I know any girls who don't wear PJs if they wear anything. I know three who wear what I do to bed, but everyone else wears pajamas. 🙂

yep, PJ's for me...two sizes too big, but PJ's all the same! lol
 
Had this conversation with lots of random different people over the years and yeah; general agreement is women wear pjs to bed, men wear, at most, underwear.

(although granted last few days ive been in sweats and free shirts I stole from work because I have a cold)
 
Women do wear PJs. That lady is talking all kinds of nonsense. Now I sleep naked but put a robe on for around the house.
 
Most of the clothes I own consist of PJs. That either says something for the lack of life I live or the fact that the woman is WRONG...I dunno which.

Anyway, that's kind of a bullshit assumption to make - just sayin'. I can say that I pretty much know an equal amount of girls and guys who do and don't sleep with PJs, if that made any sense.
 
I own an array of what is known as "sleepy pants" for the members of my family. Actually my husband and I share them, because I like my jammies big, they are more comfie that way. Maybe the lady is sort of old fashioned, because the older ladies in my family wear night gowns to bed. Actually, that's all I used to wear when I was younger, up until I started buying my own clothes and started buying men's pj's.
