Sleep Wear

I own an array of what is known as "sleepy pants" for the members of my family. Actually my husband and I share them, because I like my jammies big, they are more comfie that way. Maybe the lady is sort of old fashioned, because the older ladies in my family wear night gowns to bed. Actually, that's all I used to wear when I was younger, up until I started buying my own clothes and started buying men's pj's.

Yeah, that was the origonal reason for my asking. My mother and sister always wore gowns, and my wife does now. In fact I don't personaly know any woman who wears pajamas (at least not to my knowledge. It's not really a subject of normal conversation among sixty-year-olds)

I think night gowns are a southern tradition (and the south loves its traditions, lol). All the females in my family do or have worn night gowns. I mean, now that I think about it, both of my grandmothers did, all my great aunts, aunts and my mom do. I believe my sister and I maybe the only ones to have stepped outside the circle.

It's not just a Southern thing...my grandmother and mother both wear night gowns, I think its more of an age thing than a place thing

Very, very true. I just meant that some places in the world tend to be a little more old fashioned than others. That may have been why this particular lady was so appalled at the fact a woman might wear men's pjs.

Gotcha!
Yeah, my grandmother used to go on tirades about how a woman "wasn't supposed to wear a man's clothes," amd the opposite would be true, as well, I guess (She mever saw any of our Scottish ancestors in kilts, or she probably would've had apoplexie!). It was some kind of an "abomination" to expose a lady's "limbs," and all that stuff.

What planet does your friend live on! Yes women do wear pajamas. Or aleast most of the women I know wear pajamas (including myself).
