There are moments that are small but always fill me with warmth and make me love Xander so much:

For example, when Xander worked as a bartender in Beer Bad. He was just humiliated by frat boys and his boss, but the second he saw sad looking Buffy, he forgot all about his humiliation and went to comfort her.

There's an adorable Xander/Anya moment at a Scooby meeting. Everyone is discussing Adam or whatever and Xander and Anya are lost in their own world, cuddling.

Xander taking Dawn to school since S6. There's such a family vibe about it that makes me smile. And then in S7, he swings by to take both Buffy and Dawn to school.

Xander fixing Buffy's house for free, which I won't say is a small thing considering the many times the house gets trashed.

There are more, but those are the ones that come into my head at the moment.

The first two that came to mind:

Xander volunteering to try to talk "sense" into Faith towards the end of s3. I find it sweet that he thought they had a bond, but mostly I see him already then being an incredibly caring individual.

Xander buying Cordy's prom dress for her... just... just aww...

It's kind of funny how, though I've always like Xander (Mr. Funny man 🙂) but every re-watch I do I really find that I love the character more and more. Because there are a lot of little 'small' Xander moments that one might miss or over-look. I keep 'rediscovering' him.

I always get excited when I see you've posted another Xander love thread. He's so unappreciated in the fandom. 😀

I'm not sure if you could count this as a small moment but I just love the part when he asks Andrew about Anya. It's amazing how brave he is. I don't think that many other characters could have had the emotional strength in that situation. But I'm not sure if that's small or not.

Another one I love is, in the episode Lessons, after Giles tells Willow that: "We all are who we are, no matter how much we may have appeared to have changed" the next thing you see if Xander is a suit, going to pick Dawn up for school. It's just a small nod too how far he's come. I love it.

Might have some more later.

I really love that moment with Faith. He really wanted to help her and it saddened me for him and her that she thought he was there for sex. That scene always hurt, because Xander thought he could help her get through this and the fact that she thought of him as a joke and unworthy of her attention. So heartbreaking.

Xander buying Cordy's prom dress for her... just... just aww...

Xander buying Cordelia's prom dress is my all-time favorite Xander moment. It showed so perfectly what a genuinely nice human being he is.

I think this one is a big moment, but nonetheless an awesome one. Perhaps the small moment was Xander not telling the truth about why Cordelia was at the shop when the demon attacked. Instead he lied to save her from being humiliated, even though it was his chance to get back at her for all the times she mocked him for being poor.

I always get excited when I see you've posted another Xander love thread. He's so unappreciated in the fandom. 😀

Every time I see someone speaking ill of my beloved Xander, I start a thread to remind people of how awesome he is. 😀

It is brave when you think about it. Knowing how your love has died. And I loved his strong reaction to the news. Xander is the type who grieves alone, even though it's unhealthy, but I love that aspect of his character.

Another one I love is, in the episode Lessons, after Giles tells Willow that: "We all are who we are, no matter how much we may have appeared to have changed" the next thing you see if Xander is a suit, going to pick Dawn up for school. It's just a small nod too how far he's come. I love it.

That's one of my very few moments in S7. Xander have grown up so much and I'm glad the show made that clear.

Xander babysitting Dawn who thinks he sees her as a woman lol; and 2 years later he comforts her after she finds out she's not a potential Slayer after all.

Sometimes we don't see it, but he is pretty brave. Even though he has no special powers, he's always inside the fighting zone. He always wants to help, knowing it might kill him. But her really really wants to help.

The end of "When She Was Bad". Xander (and Willow) forgives Buffy just like that, no quarrels, no allegations.

In Ted when he praises WIllow: "Willow, you are the best human ever! I adore you! Well, that's the cookies talkin', but you rock!"

Cracking Willow's "code" in "Wild at Heart".

In Triangle when Anya and Willow are bickering:

XANDER: Hey, look at this, my two favorite girls! (to Tara) Three favorite girls.
...
ANYA: Xander, Giles left me in charge. Tell her.
XANDER: Hey, hey, Judge Xander requesting a recess here.
TARA: You really shouldn't pull him into this.
XANDER: Yeah, see? Tara's with me. (moves to stand behind Tara) Protect me, Tara.

Tara's utterly confused expression is just priceless, and of course, it's hilarious how Xander tries to dodge having to be caught in the crossfire. I really wish Tara and Xander had more interaction.

This. 🙂 Xander was always my favorite character, because my sense of humor and his are pretty similar and I've always been attracted to goofy guys that make me laugh. But every time I do a re-watch I see other little things that make me fall in love with the character all over again. 🙂

^yeah, that :D
Aww, Xander is awesome! I honestly don't think there's an episode that would be complete without Xanderness; whether it's sarcasm, over-enthusiasm, humor, embarrassment, the summoning of a demon that gives way to a musical, (even his mistakes can be charming if not horribly dangerous), fearlessness, or that great brother-like vibe he always gives out around most of the other characters.
And hey, huge Spike fan here, saying this. That's got to count for a lot, right? 🙂 Really the only time I take issue with Xander is when he's bashing Spike's attempts to be decent. (Good examples are Forever flower scene and Spiral van scene).
But I love Xander! And I love Nick Brendon's portrayal of Xander. I get miffed when people put down his acting skills--I think he's excellent. And so what if he's "playing himself?" It's a perfect fit, then!

Aw i love Xander! This isn't really a small moment at all,but I absolutely loved his speech to Willow to stop her ending the world,it was amazing!

Very important!
Okay I know its not really a cute moment, but I loved, LOVED, the scene in Dirty Girls where he's... ummm... taking a personal moment. His fantasy with those two potentials in his bed, and pillow-fight taking place in the living room. And Rona walks in to tell him he needs to unplug the stuffed up toilet. His expression was so funny, and just the idea that he was collected enough to tell her calmly that he would be right out and that he had a leg cramp showed me how great he is. How many women here have walked in on a boyfriend or a husband or a brother *shudder* only to get yelled at? I know I have, Xander is a sweetie even in situations where most guys wouldn't be.

I loved Xanders little moments he had with Spike and also with Andrew.

I just love Xander all together 🙂 I know there are tons of little moments that I can't think of cause I'm too sleepy right now but I'll be back later with some good ones, promise!

Xander babysitting Dawn who thinks he sees her as a woman lol; and 2 years later he comforts her after she finds out she's not a potential Slayer after all.

I love the Xander/Dawn friendship. I especially love how she hugged him when Giles left in S6, seeking comfort from him.

The end of "When She Was Bad". Xander (and Willow) forgives Buffy just like that, no quarrels, no allegations.

That was a great moment. Also in Normal Again, they forgive her so easily knowing what she was going through.

In Ted when he praises WIllow: "Willow, you are the best human ever! I adore you! Well, that's the cookies talkin', but you rock!"

Xander and Willow are filled with adorable moments, especially in the early seasons.

Tara's utterly confused expression is just priceless, and of course, it's hilarious how Xander tries to dodge having to be caught in the crossfire. I really wish Tara and Xander had more interaction.

Xander and Tara have their abusive homelife in common; it would have made a lot of sense if they bonded over that. I love the short eye contact they had in The Body.

I get miffed when people put down his acting skills--I think he's excellent. And so what if he's "playing himself?" It's a perfect fit, then!

Who says he plays himself? Nicholas Brendon used to stutter, he used to smoke (still?), he has tattoos, that's not Xander. Plus, the role he played in Psycho Beach Party and Private Practice have nothing to do with Xander and he excelled in both of them.

I never thought about it, but you're right. Xander is used to be around women, and has a lot of respect to them.

I loved Xanders little moments he had with Spike and also with Andrew!

I completely agree! Xander lighting Spike's cigarette and asking about his injuries as well as the shoulder squeeze he gave Andrew in Chosen are two of my all time favorite Xander moments.

You don't have to convince me, lol! Like I said, I think he's an excellent actor. I haven't seen the other shows, but yes, people have said it. *Shrugs.* People have also said that the Earth is flat. 😉

LOL! Didn't mean to snap, but that sounded so stupid. How could the fans know that Nick was playing himself? Do they even know Nick?

I did hear though that Xander was supposed to be gentler than how Nick played him. Joss admitted that Nick gave Xander an edge. I'm so glad he did.

Haha, that's ok! Yeah I think maybe it's because it was his first role or something...I've heard people say that about DB as well though in his case I think he did need to grow into the role of Angel--which he totally did!
I love when Xander says something like "oh I get it now, can I sleep with Riley too?" and when he falls under Draculas spell and is like in love with him hahaha 🙂

Ohh and in Him when he and Spike work together to tackle (wow I can't remember the boys name) to get the jacket from him! Love it

And when Andrew says something really geeky about a video game and Xander gets all excited and joins in the conversation w him:

ANDREW: I'll get it. I'm supposed to get a call when the new League of Extraordinary Gentlemen comes in. I gave them this number.

XANDER: Ooh. Can you see if you can get two?

One more moment that I love! When Xander finds out that Giles may be dead and The First is just impersonating him, Giles has all the potentials out in the middle of the desert:

ANYA: ...Xander...

XANDER: I know, they're out there all alone. All of 'em.

Love this part in Prophecy Girl, when he and Angel are looking for Buffy:

ANGEL: This way. (looks at Xander) What?

XANDER: You were looking at my neck.

ANGEL: What?

XANDER: You were checking out my neck! I saw that!

ANGEL: No, I wasn't!

XANDER: Just keep your distance, pal.

ANGEL: I wasn't looking at your neck!

XANDER: I told you to eat before we left.

Sorry but I could go on forever, here's another moment:

(Xander's basement. Spike is moving out)

XANDER: (impatiently) You own nothing. This shouldn't be taking so long.

SPIKE: Hang on. Let a fella get organized.

XANDER: That's my radio!

SPIKE: And you're what? Shocked and disappointed? I'm evil!

Xander moment - the look on his face when he sneaks into the kitchen to nab some jell-o in "Earshot" and he sees the lunchlady and her poision. There's just this hilarious little exchange of glances between them before he runs out to warn everyone.

Yeah, that scene is so funny :D
This isn't really a moment but I feel that it's worth mentioning in a Xander love thread.

I love how comfortable he is with strong woman. I think being comfortable with woman that are stronger than you is very appealing and a good trait for men to have. He's surrounded by kick ass heroines and he's totally cool with it. Maybe a little turned on by it. 😛

That's why I'm confused when some say that Xander is sexist. No misogynist could be that cool with powerful woman.

I don't get the sexist comments either. Xander was so comfortable with Buffy being his leader and hero and role model. And when Buffy died, he elected Willow to be the leader, how's that sexist?

And here's a quote by Joss:

"Xander is as important a role model as Buffy and people will never really get that, I think, most of 'em. But, the fact of the matter is that I had a two-fold intent, which was to create a role model in the idea of a girl who's a genuine leader and the role model in a man who is not only comfortable, but turned on by that."

Here's a link to the quote
