The only other Smallville thread I could find was on the cemetary and I really do need to talk about this.

First off all I really don't like the Superman comics, never have and probably never will. There's just nothing human to that guy, nothing to relate to no matter what problems he's got he's always just gooder than goodness.

Anyway I don't really like Smallville either....until I saw the first episode of the fourth season. Now I've actually seen a few episodes and still not a big fan, the quality is just to varied, but I love Lex and Lois. Awesome characters. And I especially like what Lois got to bring to an otherwise over the top type of show.

So any other thoughts about the show? Season 5 to premier soon, or perhaps it has already premiered?

I haven't watched Smallville that much, just seen an epi here and an epi there so I don't have any season overview or anything.. I don't like the show so much, least not what I've seen so far, but as you say the quality is really varied and some things can seem very good and other things, not so much.

I'm not a fan of Superman comics as well, but I needed something to replace Buffy.

The new season starts on 28th. Well, at least in the US..

Well I was always a rather dorky kid so I always liked the superman comics and the old school justice league and stuff like that but I do agree that that Superman was always a rather flat character. So of course I watched Smallville when it came out and I personally loved it although I don't get to watch it as much as I would like to. I like the fact that it portrays Clarkes preSuperman days and I think its given the old flat Superman quite a bit of character and personality.

I'm a huge comic nerd, and I hate Smallville. It's stupid, cheesy, poorly written and acted. That being said...James Marsters just might be enough to get me to watch.

I think the show is actually really good....i would say one or two seasons have had problems BUT on the whole they have entertained and taken us to somewhere good with Clarke*though some inconsistencies have annoyed me abit
I'm not a fan of Smallville either. Nor do I watch it.
But I am a Chlex fan.

I watch Smallville once in a blue moon but now that James Marsters is going to be in it,I just might watch it regularly.

You see ive watched the show since the beginning....i really think its good. Well its better then most crap...It gets a bit too puh sometimes BUT the last season with the whole Lex embracing the idea of the man he is to become....thats made the show get better...and JM as a recurring(only a few eps) makes the next season even more tasty to watch.

Now I wanna talk about Arrival and Mortal, so I'm hoping someone else's seen em.

So didn't like Mortal, but it was one of those episodes I knew was coming. They've gotta give people what they've been longing to see so that they can move on. Which is good so I've got my hopes up for the next episode. Otherwise a Lex who's starting to lose it was way good, whereas the lack of Lois not so good.

And what's the deal with just showing James Marsters turnin around in Arrival? I need more than just that!

I never really liked the comics or the films but I absolutely love smallville. I have to agree that season 4 was better than the previous 3, but I watched it to replace buffy at first and now i'm hooked. I've even got my own smallville website.

The first season was good but season 2 and 3 were lacking something and mainly revolved around clark and lana's relationship / friendship and that was boring!

Can't wait to see what this new season has to offer. It's a shame we have to wait so long in the uk

Speaking as someone who's seen what the new season's got to offer. Let's just say it's got potential. SOme things that I could live without, but then again some really good scenes as well.

Yeah agree with the boredom of Clana, too much like Bangel in my opinion without the fun bits.
