Shocked ! You know what ? I try my best to make the difference between actors and the characters they played. They are such good actors playing good characters who are in fact very bad people in real life and of course the reverse is also right. But the thing is when you love a character, you relate this love to the face that represent this character and so when I discover that this person IRL is.................. I don't know... the person is not what I think she was and there is this feeling of disappointment ! very strange but as much as I loved Chloe, I will never look at her the same way I did.

Also, come on guys, 2018 and there is still cult like that ???? What's wrong with people !

I'm like you @Antho. I can seperate actors and their characters and even forgive them for their indiscretions like an affair (most of the time, anyway. Looking at you Brad Pitt). But celebs who injure another human being or just violate sanctity of life shouldn't even be given the time of day. They are vile ppl regardless of their talent. The latest I can think.of is Mark Salling. Glee has become tainted to me.

I totally understand. For example, David Boreanaz cheated on his wife few years ago and still nowadays all this bad buzz pursuits him. But I gave him a pass because that's not really my business, it concerns only him and his family and although it's not very glorious to cheat on someone, this isn't very dangerous for the rest of the world. So, I give him a pass. But in this case, concerning Alyson Mack, apparently she is the "Pimp Mack" the "slave master" 😵, she doesn't defend herself, she is still with this guy knowing what are the pursuits against him ! I mean, I hope all of this is a joke but I really don't think. I can't give her a pass for that, it's too horrible

I was so disappointed in DB for that! But I.guess that is his business. But what Allison Mack is allegedly doing is awful. She's a ring master of modern day sex slavery and that will never be ok with me. Ppl who look up to her are in serious danger because she allegedly actively scouts. Ick. I could only imagine what the victims families are going through. Chloe Sullivan would be so disgusted with Allison Mack.

I have only seen the same info circulated on this. There was another thread here on it too when the story was in the sun a few months ago.


Does the sex cult force people or are they willing slaves? Is the arrest due to the sexual nature or something else?
 
Getting confused here, Mrs Boreanaz was a high person in a sex cult. David Boreanaz he had sex with another woman and left his wife. Given the types of films that David Boreanaz used to be in that may have been where he met the Mrs Boreanaz to be. Then he moans about it and she gets busted for sex slavery, not being paid might mean they was hookers or in porno's and there is loads of them in America, so why is she being taken to court? There must be a race thing involved.
 
This has actually been going on for quite a while, I've been following it a bit. Watch the videos of her talking about it on YouTube. Super disturbing.
 
Im still not really sure what the big deal is exactly. Having sex with a man for finacial gain, joining secret clubs, just sounds like another day in hollywood.
 
What shocks me is that people get sucked into them. There are red flags even before it gets to the sex cult aspect.

When I was 15, I was dumb enough to misread a guy and get into his car where he then drove me to a place he could sexually assault me. I did get away more wary of the world, no matter how good a person seemed, but even then, had he asked me to put on handcuffs to demonstrate my goodwill or trust to him I'd have told him to get lost and gotten away sooner. Turning over blackmail material and signing over assets sounds even more "don't do that" than that, and ADULTS were doing that.

I can understand some ways people get sucked into cults (a sense of belonging, purpose, feeling loved, heck, even just the drugs), but not signing over assets and handing over blackmail material. Are they so conditioned to obey anyone who exudes authority, or that any kind of doubt in someone or cynicism is bad so do so to prove they're a good person and how positive they are? 😵

Is there a place that I can read or hear of the details of how the process happened and/or the specific things looked for in those enslaved? (I'm talking about turning over such material, to give someone else so much power over you, I don't want to be titillated by all the sex stuff as I'm sure most others are more interested in.) Such techniques used by people like this would be good to know. Or maybe the same vulnerabilities this cult exploited is useful to other, more socially accepted, groups as well who don't want those vulnerabilities overcome, even though others (like this cult) will also exploit them.

This story continues... Looks likeAllison Mack married Nicki Cline last year (for citizenship). Normally I'd say that they make a cute couple, but now it just seems bizarre. 😵
 
As long as children aren't involved, I don't see what the big deal is. Funny how Americans and Brits are so hung up on sex.
 
What actors do affects how we feel about the roles they play; how could it not? The question I find myself having is whether it should more or less than it does. Because, the truth is that they are not the characters they play. I mostly find myself shying away more because I don't want to give people who abuse others any of my money.

I think it's easier for me to keep watching people who are only destructive to themselves. Once people's wrong doing includes others, particularly vulnerable people or by coercion or dishonesty, I have a very hard time with it.

I have to admit that it makes me sad though... A whole collection of actors are gonna lose residuals because of Bill Cosby -- and a lot of black kids will not grow up seeing a smart middle class black family -- something that we still don't have enough of on TV. But, they won't be watching a rapist be glorified, so there's that. Maybe they should rename the show, 'the Huxtables' and make cuts that involve more of the stories of the other actors? I don't know.

Fortunately, Smallville, especially in the earlier seasons, wasn't the Allison Mack show... but still, I would not blame the other participants if they figured out some way to sue Mack for lost profits if Smallville reruns vanish. Who knows what residuals there were from the Cosby's shows?

Sometimes, for actors who only had one series on TV, residuals remain important for the rest of their lives... sucks to be them if their show ends up shoved onto a back shelf instead of being shown. Until the conviction of BC, the Cosby show and I Spy were both on old timey TV channels. I hear The Cosby Show's off now. Don't know about I Spy.

People watched the work of Roman Polanski for years and it always bothered me that he was actually lionized and continued to win awards. But other people were in those movies. Every one of these movies or shows is a collaboration.

This is so much simpler if it was just a one man gig.

I wonder sometimes how many of our heroes of art and literature and music were bad human beings. How much respect would we have for them if there had been recordings or evidence? Do those of us who are the great grand children of slaves, need to exise the 'heroes' from ancient Greece or Rome who had slaves? I probably think too much!

So, coercion and deception are OK -- as long as the person whose consent is violated is adult? I don't think this is about being hung up about sex. This is about violating people and I cannot be OK with that, no matter what the age of the person is.
