There are allegedly children involved. They all go by code names, supposedly. Also since victims are supposed to give colleteral, that colleteral may just also involve (very young) siblings.
But hey what do I know. None of this Hollywood crap shocks me anymore. I think what shocks me more is that they are still pushing the populace to listen to them, vote for whom they tell you to, talk about rights, feminism, look up to those 'stars' and aspire to be like them. That and people actually still doing that, despite what comes out pretty much daily about the dark side of Hollyweird. It's an endless circle of crazy which I will probably never understand.

From what I've been able to find, this isn't regret or attention seeing. It was a non-sex cult that used classic cult brainwashing techniques, and once they had a pool of brainwashed women to choose from, a select few (matching "Vanguard's" personal preferences) were chosen for further brainwashing. They were branded with initials (one showed them to a reporter, and thus to the viewer), in addition to more intense brainwashing.
While I can see someone being so narcissistic as to brand themselves and concoct such a story, this doesn't seem to be the case here (and many sex slavers like pimps will use similar coercion tactics and they're not even a cult). There are other crimes involved as well, though of course the sex slavery is the most sensational and going to get the most coverage.
I think Vanguard (I can't remember his actual name and I'm too lazy to look it up) came to believe his own propaganda about himself which is why he tried to recruit women he was attracted to (which included famous actresses) who were not part of his cult. I'm glad that failed.
Just to be clear, I'm fine with S&M and all that. This strikes me as something else. It also appears one of the cultists committed suicide, though how much of that was due to the abuse because of the cult is an open question (I'd think cults find it easiest to get those with issues already, though it's apparently not a requirement). I believe a note implicated the cult leader, but I don't feel like looking up the details. (I also think she was an underage member.)
