I would disagree.. two (angel and cordy) MAYBE, but Angel could be a stretch as the only real thing he did on Buffy was turn evil...
Angel helped during apocalyses at least three times during his stay in Sunydale ('Prophecy Girl', 'The Zeppo' and 'Graduation Day Part 2') he also saved Buffy's life on a bunch of occassions ('Angel', 'What's My Line' etc), actually learned about the 'perfect happiness' clause in his curse (which defines his very esitance while in LA) and got inspired by Buffy herself just as much as Doyle did. In LA Angel was actually helping people before Doyle showed up to give him a bit more scope/direction.
I'd also say that Cordelia's tenure in Sunnydale did a lot to prepare her for LA and fighting monsters; dealing with scary situations, gore, horrible monsters. Coping with an almost fatal injury. Getting chances to be brave, face down danger, help other people, staking her first vamp, etc.
Wesley didn't do much in Sunnydale though, I'm with you there...Although it could be argued that this is where his tendancy to act unilaterally and unintentionally make a bad situation worse comes from. His snatching up Faith when pretty badly and made sure she went down a dark path, and then later he goes and snatches up Connor...

Eh, the only apocalypse I would consider would be the ascension. Didnt think about Prophesy being one, and honestly forgot he was in Zeppo.
